What Do I Have To Do To Get Rid Of This Overlay?
« on: October 06, 2005, 06:31:00 AM »

I remember a few months ago, all I had to do, was hit the white or black button. But now they do nothing.

I don't want this image burned into my TV. This is the reason I use the visualizations.

that overlay is ONLY used if you leave xbmc @ homescreen, fullscreen viz has different overlays, which you toggle with black & white

looks like all you should have to do from there is press the x button.  Did you already try pressing all the buttons?

I'm having the same sort of problem with the new release.  Is there some way to just have the vis without the overlay?

Well,l that takes away any help I could offer smile.gif  I'm also using the oct 3 t3ch build but I have no issues with this.  The only time mine does that is if I leave it on the homescreen, but then pressing any button gets rid of it.

From what I remember, the earlier versions of Project Mayhem III had that vis mode & you press white to hide that overlay. The version now doesn't have that overlay & is completely different.

But, if you want to remove that overlay, open MusicVisualisation.xml in the pal folder with wordpad and delete the entire section:

QUOTE
    <control>
      <description>background image</description>
      <type>image</type>
      <id>1</id>
      <posX>0</posX>
      <posY>0</posY>
      <width>720</width>
      <height>576</height>
      <texture>4x3home2.png</texture>
    </control>

Or if you're using the 16x9 resolution, follow above but edit the xml in the pal16x9 folder (the texture will be 16x9home2.png)

Then don´t.

No one put a gun to your head and forced you to update.

(If someone did, then the overlay is not your biggest problem...)

You paided how much for XBMC?

How much do you pay for tech support?

XBMC is, and will be, a WIP (Work In Progress) and as such problems will arise from version to version.

Two fixes where given:

QUOTE
that overlay is ONLY used if you leave xbmc @ homescreen, fullscreen viz has different overlays, which you toggle with black & white

^^ = Start the viz from my music with the x button and then press the white and it goes away... (ONLY USE THE PM3 SKIN)

RocafellaSqualie´s fix also works for what you asked. He, nor we, can be mindreaders to what you want/need to other things that you write.
