Is this XBMC made by the people behind XBMP? If that is so, will XBMP be discontinued?
Guess I'll check it out anyways.  wink.gif

theres an option in the settings that says "ftp server" but wether i tick or untick it i can not ftp in so i assume that its going to be put in soon.
i would hold off using it as a dash though for now.
found a bug that could cause a lot of work for you if you use it as a dash.
with only the normal XBMC skin installed try to change skin, the screen now goes black.
if you shutdown and try to start the program again the screen goes black (btw i have a pal tv that can handle both pal 50/60 and ntsc so its not that)
the only way to fix it is to ftp in and delete the E:\TDATA\0face008 folder and restart XBMC

I tried it out and I was really unimpressed. It still in it's early stages and is pretty bare. There's hardly any options for videos(which is the main use for me) and it is especially lacking a playlist. Also, I was hopeing it would play my .avi videos but it only played the audio. As for the music I was hopeing it would be able to be able to read the xbox music titles. Well....not to gripe or anything....I think it is really cool they are working on a new project for a media player....I was just disappointed from all the hype.

You are right this was a bug in the skin engine. Its fixed now. And all i can say is to read the readme comming with the builds. Could save you some trouble  wink.gif

From the readme:
QUOTE
Don't try the skin switch button in general settings at present, it may make
your screen go black (delete the 0face008 directories if this has happened).
There is only one skin included in this package anyway.
