It's considered vulgar by our "society" for what reason?  Because it's always been that way?  Sounds great to me.
Fuck that. laugh.gif

   *  Our file sharing is like no other file sharing, it is actually disk sharing.

Damn, I did all of this with OpenVPN over a year ago, even with Linux. I especially like the part about "disk sharing". They make it seem like it's something magical, while I already could do this 10 years ago (securely!) over the Internet. The best part is that you probably do not want to share your entire disk. I must say that it looks impressive and expensive. If it would be my mod, I would use a 'real' 5.1 set (not from Bose). It would probably be a good PC speaker set with a built-in DD/DTS decoder to keep the size down. Just put the subwoofer behind/under the seat for extra effect. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I sure as hell hope there is not only 12 tracks on forza 2.  That would piss me off, it cant be true.
You can probably play all tracks also reversed. Also, Microsoft is (off course) willing to sell you extra tracks... for a nominal fee, off course. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Off course, I don't use Xbox Live and I sure as hell don't play games for which I must pay extra to make it 'complete'.

If this would be a real top 5 it would be:

#1 PS2
#2 Atari
#3 Dreamcast
#4 N64
#5 SNES

Why the N64 controller? It hardly provided any bonuses. Plus the D-pad and L-button were kind of hard to reach when you used the joystick in the middle mostly.

I think the second Xbox controller (the S edition) was quite good. The first controller (the Duke) was quite a failure and it's correct that it doesn't appear on any of the lists. smile.gif

the reason why they don't do that is restrictions with the content that you download.
Well, it's only security through obscurity. It's always possible to get the information from the HDD. Whether that information is encrypted and can only be decoded with a key which is hidden deep in the heart of your Xbox 360 is another case.

But times are different from when we were younger to the generation and society today. Since people like Jack Thompson exist and the media's eye constantly looks over games such as Manhunt and Grand Theft Auto, people must start taking notice of these age ratings since they are there for a reason.
Yeah, for example: GTA:SA was Adults Only rated for a while because a non-used texture was available in the game which showed a nipple (8x8 pixels or something). That REALLY shouldn't be ignored. The game was rated Mature previously. Well, imagine that a 17 year old (which is the minimum requirement for Mature rated content) sees the nipple if he mods his game! What if he goes on a rape rampage after playing it? I mean, it would be the game's fault, wouldn't it? Off course, the same guy who is 18 or 21 years old (requirement for Adult Only rated content) could handle the nipple much, much better and will not give in to this insanity and if they do, it is their own fault, right?

America... America... this is you. dry.gif

my thoughts exactly!!!!!!!!!

i remember back in the days of ps1, i was never allowed a 18+, and if lucky enough only play it around me parents

age ratings are there for a damn good reason!
Why? Most people in the Netherlands can see breasts with nipples on public television without going mad. They also have far less shootouts on schools, despite not giving a crap about the age of the consumer who buys violent video games.

Someone I know was in the 'States recently and watched in surprise as a parent was moving her hands over the eyes of her children on the beach, just because an older woman was changing clothes 100 meters away. She was topless for only a few seconds and even turned her back to them when she changed. Still, the mother looked in utter disgust while she pushed her children the other way, forcing them not to watch.

Ratings are fun, especially if you believe in them. Most people in the USA do. I believe in common sense. Nipples do not harm people, guns do not harm people and violent video games do not harm people. People harm people.

DD-WRT all the way PPL !!!

Just get an old WRT54GS (router) or a WAP54G (AP) off ebay and flash it with DD-WRT

its got QOS, XLink-Kai deamon, WDS .......
And if you don't like eBay, just get your hands on a new WRT54GL. DD-WRT also supports that model. Do not get a new WRT54G.

Anyone with a bit of experience in networking knows how to set everything up using off-the-shelf components. A lot of people already did this with the Xbox.

Still, nice article.

That's right. Eject buttons have a reason. You know for what? For ejecting something, not inserting. Just push the lid gently and the drive will do the rest.

Also, I remember the days of the cute CD-ROM's and CD-R's which were each equipped with a caddy. No bullshit about "pushing the eject button to insert it". sleep.gif

About people complaining that certain peripherals being used for a console might be considered 'cheating'...

Someone with a 720p widescreen also has a clear advantage against someone with a 480i SDTV. So people who use 720p widescreens are also 'cheating'?

Grow up, get a life and learn to game well instead of bitching. dry.gif

[edit]
About Microsoft 'banning any USB device they want'... If I would design a 3rd party controller for the Xbox 360 I would program an USB controller chip to emulate the USB parameters of a retail controller.

Not to mention.. good luck with mouse tracking speed in games that don't have any speed adjustments naturally. turning or aiming WILL be slow as mud in some games.
I thought a solution might be to use a Logitech G5 mouse, which can alter its sensitivity between 3 presets using two buttons, even when no mouse-specific driver is installed. But then I remembered that the G5 only works on USB, not PS/2. dry.gif

Shorty said: this... 'thing' is useless, especially for 80 bucks. They could have put an Xbox controller-port instead of a Playstation 2 port. It wouldn't have made the product perfect, but at least a little bit better compared to what it is now.
