XboxMediaCenter / Help!
« on: February 25, 2008, 08:47:00 PM »
What do you mean by "it's not an .xbe"?  Presumably you have downloaded a T3CH version of XBMC, have you made sure to make an XBOX ISO before burning it (using Qwix, Craxion or similar), and if so have you made sure that you only used the XBMC subfolder as source, not the entire archive as T3CH includes things for PC as well as the XBOX.

If this is all correct then I would reccommend the best thing to do is to try and get the XBOX networked to PC and FTP the folder over, as this is generally much more successful than burning to CD-RW (indeed, many XBOXes aren'table to read CD-RW, and only DVDs burned at a low speed).

XboxMediaCenter / Xbmc Handshake Issue
« on: February 26, 2008, 01:31:00 AM »
I've had problems with it before.  All I did was set it again but having everything case sensitive and that worked.  May have been coincidence but might be worth a try.

Check back in Manage UPnP Shares to make sure everything was added properly, and reboot the xbox.  I've found sometimes it just tanks the info when you edit them.  Also I can't guarantee which file types work on 360, but mp3 and avi are good choices.

If that still doesnt work then I don't know, you might need someone better than me.  Although think I saw mention somewhere that things need to be scanned to library for sharing to work.  I'm not sure how it works, I just know it does for me, and I'm happy with that.
Good luck mate.

OK, apologies galeen - I posted a reply in the other thread but my connection is being crap again so it obviously didn't go through.

You need to enable the UPnP Server in Settings>Network>UPnP Settings and then add the video and music folders you want to the appropriate sections. Then when you're on the 360 just change the music/video source and it should autodetect XBMC.
I've not tried it for videos really, except for a 2 minute test - I much prefer the display in XBMC and since mine are next to each other.  The music on the other hand works great, although navigating it can be a hassle, as it doesnt organise properly (I choose an artist, and still have access to all songs) but otherwise its great, and I stand by my comment that the right music can really help your gameplay.

your nuts to not just use your xbox1 with xbmc to play your videos and music.

LOL.  competes2win holds a very good point regarding videos, but it is a great function for music - sometimes the right song can make all the difference.

XboxMediaCenter / Cast Picture Not Showing Picture

Bugger, I completely overlooked that.  I've not changed settings for so long I just assumed it was in the scraper settings.  Obviously spiff is right, ignore mines.

Enable Full Cast Credits in the scraper settings. Not everyone gets images in my experience so don't expect that, but you should get things fine that way.

XboxMediaCenter / Weather Status Help
« on: January 20, 2008, 05:44:00 PM »
To my knowledge you shouldnt actually need the Zip code, unless I'm missing something.  If you go into the weather config it asks you to "Change Area Code #" but the code itself is from  All you need is a large town somewhere near you.  Unfortunately it doesnt work for everywhere, but its pretty good (I use a town 40 miles from me).

Unfortunately I don't really know any of Barbados well enough to help any more than than.  I searched for bridgetown and it gets found easily enough, but I cant check any more for you.  Just take a guess for the best area - you obviously know where you live (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

XboxMediaCenter / Is There A Way To Connect...

It could have just been down to network lag, or differing versions of XBox... who knows, I suppose anything could be possible.

Well, I don't know much about scripting for XBMC, bu tI've managed to use its broadcast function with relative success.  You could maybe try making a small script that gets one XBox as host to broadcast the filename it starts playing and the other XBox to start playing the same filename when it recieves the broadcast.  It wouldnt really syncronise perfectly and youd have about a seond delay between the two, but you could counteract that in the script if it bothered you.

Alternatively, just have all the music added to a playlist, launch at the same time on both and lock XBMC so it cant be changed.  Not as fun a solution, and means no random songs, but it would work.

XboxMediaCenter / Problems Accessing Videos

How long have you had this isue for?  I would suggest downloading the newest MC360 skin build (SVN Revision 1039 was released 29 November).  Other than that I'm not too sure myself.  Maybe try asking in the Blackbolt forums and if its a bug they may be able to sort you out.

You get the new version from T3CHs Website.  Theres always a pinned thread at the top of this forum telling you the most recent version, normally started by T3CH so you should always be able to find it.
Theres a file in the archive telling you how to update.

XboxMediaCenter / Best Naming Convention For Tv Dvd's
« on: December 13, 2007, 05:44:00 PM »
The TV scrapers can be an awkward ground at times.  They're great, but there can be a couple of quibbles with it, but they're the reason I started naming the way I did (I used to just have the episode number and name, without the season eg 01 - Pilot.avi and kept in folders for info like Videos/Heroes/Season 1 but changed that recently)

The scrapers can download the images for thumbnails, but it depends on what the scraped site actually has.  In my personal opinion the best is the TVDB scraper because it gets more season banner choice, but it doesnt always get episode images because they're not all there, but you can upload your own if need be.  The scraper may be better as it gets more information, but its preference as always.

About the defined info, I think the scraper just finds the first data so 1x01-05 would only retrieve the data for 1x01, but I dont know how this would work for you with the iso images as I mainly use seperate .avi files.

XboxMediaCenter / Best Naming Convention For Tv Dvd's
« on: December 13, 2007, 03:40:00 PM »
I've started using "{Series} {Season}x{Episode} - {Episode}"
So you'd end up with Heroes 1x01-05.  Maybe just my preference, but I'm not a fan of the S01E01 style.

QUOTE(Dee$ @ Dec 13 2007, 07:44 PM) '*'

Heroes SE01 E01-05.iso or something similar to that. I doubt if any thing will ever reach SE1xxx (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Depends on the TV show type really.  I've known a lot of cartoons and things which get quite high up there, but yeah, if it reaches then I might get slightly stuck for the naming convention.

XboxMediaCenter / 3d Thumbnail Scraper [xbmc Game Scraper?]
« on: December 13, 2007, 12:28:00 AM »
Lol, glad your not actually disappointed.  I know only too well what can happen when you lose your threads, although I'm not sure bumps ever help too much.

I don't know if anyone is trying to actually add the program-scraper support.  I believe its been considered (scraper heirarchy shows they intended more than just video) but where it lies is completely unknown to me.  I think it would be an absolutely brilliant idea to be able to change your Apps thumbnails from an online database, and I've even been looking into hosting a small one off of my site to get it to take off (I'm sick of apps having Lame or no icon), but unfortunately the fact of the matter is - the best we can do is request the feature, and perhaps make some scrapers to help out with it.

As far as I've seen youve said you cant do it, but you've put in some of the research which will hopefully help me to make a scraper.  Best I can offer though is that I'll give it an attempt, as its completely new to me.  I know there are many others who will definitly be capable, just a matter of whether they think it's worth doing if it's not necessarily going to be used.
