You can format using th Extras feature inside the package.

Thanks for the tip.  It ended being partly my fault, didn't have G enabled in the EvoX dash, and needing to put a file in the G partion to get XBMC to see it correctly.

Quick and Dirty F & G Drive Format Tutorial

1. Start XBpartitioner

2. Under 'Extended Partitions' if you have anything listed in green, highlight the first option, then click down on the Right Analog Stick, to disable it. Do the same for the other one. If you don't see anything, exit by pressing Back, then back again, then skip to step 4.

3. Press Start then Y to save, now what was green should now be gone and greyed out. Now press Back, then press back again to exit.

4. Restart XBpartitioner, then press A to cycle through available options for the partitions under 'Extended Partitions'. (Top option is F, bottom option is G.)

5. Once you have chosen the setup that you want, Press Start then Y to save. Then press Back, then Back again to exit.

If all went well, you should now have the F and G drives setup the way you wanted them to be.

Also, be sure to have 'Enable F Drive' and 'Enable G Drive' set to Yes if you are using Evox.

Frosty, I have done the above and after I remove the F and G partitions I restart XBpartitioner and cycle through the presets so it has F getting 129GB and the rest going to G.  I hit start and Y, it says formating partition 6 and then formating Partition 7, after it is finished I exit out I still only see the F partition in XBMC.

Going to My files in XBMC shows C, E, F and G is "Unavailable".

Maybe this an XBMC problem, but I don't see the G partition in UnleashX went booting up with the exploit either?  I see the changes that I make to the F partition, but no G partition.  Also don't see a G when FTPing in to the box.

Recommendation on other partition tools to try?

^ I dont know what the heck you are talking about and you are reading WAY too much into my question.  I softmodded using Krayzie's Ndure and the .67 bios, but it still wouldn't see > 137GB until I re-partitioned it.  I would be fine with a F: and G: drive, but only the UnleashX that Krayzie's installs could see the G: drive.  I didn't know if there was a better way to install the softmod to retain all GB of the hdd.  How to you guys preform a softmod with a new hdd the quickest?  Here's what I do:

1.  Use Krayzie's to get EEPROM
2.  Burn DVD with already softmodded C and E drive with new EEPROM
3.  Boot to xboxhdm
4.  Unlock hdd
5.  Rebuild C: and E:
5.  Lock hdd
6.  Install hdd and put xbox back together
7.  Boot XBpartitioner and edit F: drive to get full hdd space
8.  Reboot and enjoy

Is there a simpiler/faster way?

Will XBpartitioner run from XBMC?  I placed it in /E/Apps/XBpartitioner/, the folder has XBpartitioner.xbe, XBpartitioner.nfo, and Source.rar.  When I attempt to run the XBpartitioner.xbe my xbox locks up.

lol nevermind, it is working now.

Yes, someone made a mod that integrated Dvd2Xbox and LinksBoks on the previous version of mc360. It is fairly easy to do.

An alternative to linksboks is X-DSL (which I prefer). It is a linux client based on "damn small linux" and takes up barely any room (hence the name) and comes with many programs. It comes with the internet browser firefox, which i prefer over linksboks, it is much cleaner and user-friendly. You can also use a keyboard and mouse with X-DSL (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Jeffy,

What install did you choose; Frugal or loopback?  I don't want native as it will wipe my F partition.

General Software Discussion / Best Divx To Wmv 9 Converter?

I don't do a ton of transcoding, but 2 hours in 10 minutes seems a bit fast with no quality loss?  I used to do Mpeg-2 to divx and divx/xvid to Mpeg-2 and it took quite a long time.

Even on a Quad Core 6700 it takes 63 seconds to convert a 3 minute HD clip. On an FX-62 that same clip took 127 seconds.

I've had plenty of Lite On CD-R drives and they have done well.  Their early DVD-/+R drives blew, poor write quality, haven't kept up on their later models as my NEC 8x is fine for the little writing I do.

I don't really expect anything great or different coming from this.

Umm NO.. mine has a toggle switch for it beinh on or off.. ya the 360 powers it but it still has a switch

I'd also like to say that thing NEVER gave me a problem.. and it made oblivion stop locking up on me
(and my xbox is out in the open and the air temp in my place is always 68-70)

Your mostly only going here people that had problems on internet forums complain about the intercooler

I have no doubt for some people it fucks up.. but I guarantee for 90% of the people it is fine.

Well, that's how most forums operate.  People looking for solutions/information to a problem or just wanting a place to bitch.

Hah.  Fortunately I didn't buy one of those.

The PS3 does have one thing going for it over the 360 - an apparently superior cooling system.

While intial reviews would make it seem so I wonder how it will do in the consumers hands.

I was in the Target where they had the DEMO PS3 and the people there had to RESET the PS3 about every hour because it was freezing up/overheating.  Who knows maybe it as well is just a "Bad one"

heh sounds familar....When the 360 came out the same thing happened at the target I used to frequent.  The kid working the counter said said it constantly froze and required hard resets.  Judging a console that gets run 24/7 in a plstic box is not the best way to make a decision.  I worked for Target for a couple years and every console would freeze.

They have a CPU design revision which is due early next year which dramatically reduces heat and power. Old news.

die shrink, not redesign

Just wanted to jump in and point out one thing here. There are actually 3 video codecs that can be used and they are H.264, MPEG-2 or VC1 and guess what most , if not all, Blue-Ray movies have used? MPEG-2. Thats why they dont hold up visually to HD-DVDs right now.....

Oh and I will be getting the HD-DVD addon when it comes out smile.gif

That is true, one theory I have heard was the cost associated with mastering films in VC-1.  I think the video codec of choice for BD is supposed to be h.264/AVC, but admittly I am out of loop as far as what studios are planning to do.  Again though, his point was that it wasn't the disc, but rather the studios making that choice causing lower levels of PQ.

come on guys, stop trying to convince the guy next to you to buy a ps3 or 360. In the end it's all about the games anyway.

well said.

I can understand your destain for sony since you are obviously a fanboy, however when comparing blu-ray to hd-dvd - they are actually the SAME encoded files, any quality that people are comparing is based on the players available on the market.  You do understand that blu-ray and HD-DVD are simply storage formats.. The actual Hd-def movie files on each disc are compatible..  either VC1 or H264 encoded.   That means in theory copy protection aside, you could put a HD-DVD movie onto a blu-ray disc and have the exact same quality file.

I was going to post that, but got lazy and didn't want to add more fuel to the fire.  Glad somebody did.

You forget a few important features with the 360..

IT ACUALLY HAS GAMES!! The PS3 will not have a nice title till next holiday at least and by that time the 360 games will be well formed and have larger inventory.

You also get access to the best Online service in the gaming community.

You also get a good track record of quality parts and service unlike Sony parts (hello PS2, TV, stereos of late).

lol that is stupid.  It's a new system of course it won't have the same library of games the 360 out of the gate, but it does have games available upon launch and plenty more will be made for the system.  "Nice title" is subjective and depnds on what games you like to play.

Please don't talk about quality and MS, "Help my 360 flashing is 3 red lights"..."Oh that's easy just take a heatgun to it".

Here is what it comes down to.  Some people see the value of the PS3 and want to purchase one, you don't and thus own the 360.
