Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what's the point of crossflashing if the drive's firmware is going to be replaced with ixtreme burner max? Any point to do this to a 124b if you're just going to use the drive to backup xgd3 games?

Maybe cus c4e mentioned the drive will keep functioning as before only with the extra ability to burn more data. Therefore I guess not the whole firmware will be replaced but just the part that handles that area.

Forgive me for sounding ignorant, butis there a write solution for 0225?
if not, this is like developing a bullet that can go through anything without a gun to load it in.

I'm guessing since they are in testing stage they have written the firmware to actual drives in order to test...

Yup you could use that DVD key to build a new Firmware to flash on you drive without probing or soldering. The rest of the unique data in the firmware will be lost though but you won't be goin on live anyway with jtag installed

A TSOP flash is a kind of "softmod"

no it isn't. The only relationship is has to softmod is that you need a gamesave exploit to get a flashing app running.

you mean the sounds on your ms dash? Well if you make sure you have an audio folder on your virtual C then the sounds should work as well. The purpose of the bin is well like you said it exposes the (hidden) C partition in where you normally should have not to change anything.
And no you cannot change it without recompiling. And I have no Idea if the black screen does not come up ever again. I have not experienced it myself.

no you need to recompile nkpatcher. maybe the easiest thing for you to do is to make sure shadowc isn't turned off and it has msdash files on it and that you don't unplug your xbox too much
