XPort Projects / Definitive Tutorial For Screen Adjustment
« on: March 01, 2007, 03:19:00 PM »
Gentlemen,

Finally I am able to release my definitive tutorial
for screen adjustment in the Xbox Emulators.

It's pretty complete regarding Xport and Nes6502 emulators,
and maybe you can help to increase a bit the information
for FBA-XXX and Mame.

Link:
http://www.kppshngthbttn.com/?page_id=32

If moderators find this tutorial useful, feel free to pin
somewhere else. I am very happy to be sharing my
information and helping the Scene to always reach the best
standards.

And listen to Miles Davis, brother!

XPort Projects / Raiden Dx On Pcsxbox
« on: October 12, 2006, 06:47:00 AM »
Question about Raiden DX (Yes, I did a search before...)

Anyone has managed a optimum configuration for this game?
The game itself runs pretty well, but there are problems on the
start, options and all outside game screens.

They render damaged from middle to bottom of the screen,
so I can't see anything regarding to all game options.

I checked the emulator configurations, but they are so many!
I don't know where to start!

The first one I tried were different cores.
1.4 and 1.6 did not lead the game.

Any directions are *very* welcome.
Thank you guys,
Cheers,
C.

XPort Projects / New Skins For Xport Emulators - Ready For Download
« on: September 24, 2006, 10:01:00 PM »
Ladies (is there anyone) and gentlemen,

After upgrading to Xbox Media Center
I thought it could be great to have all my emulators
running on the same style as my dashboard.

So I decided to create new skins to all emulators
I currently have instaled on my system (the only
ones who I really play...)

Please serve yourself and enjoy.
Within the RAR file I am providing the
layered photoshop layouts for my skins
and icons, so you have all freedom to modify
anything you don't like.

At the moment I am trying to make a XBMC based
skin for MAMEoX128, but my free time is short,
and it emulator demands a lot of attention
to be skinned.

That's all folks!

Gentlemen,

Since Dr. Madmab is working on new builds of Xport emulators I had
the idea of suggesting a new "virtual keyboard" layout for the upcoming versions.

Here are the proposals:

1 - Black with full white characters
IPB Image

2 - Black with white characters and colored ENTER/BACKSPACE
IPB Image

3 - Beige Simple
IPB Image

4 - Beige Bold as Love
IPB Image

5 - Beige Satin Dress
IPB Image

6 - Gray Cold as a Stone
IPB Image

7 - The original bundled keyboard (actually in use on all emus)

My vote goes to #1.
Dark as black magic.

XboxMediaCenter / Pmiii - Changing Main Menu Items, Is It Possible?
« on: March 19, 2007, 07:02:00 PM »
Comrades,

I found another guy around here who also thinks
the same... How important is WEATHER and FILE MANAGER
for you in PMIII skin?

I wonder how complex is to edit (or hack!) PMIII skin to make
the Weather goes down, and File Manager (with new short
name like Explorer, Finder, Files, etc) goes up, to stay
together with  Programs, Videos, Pictures, Music?

In my vision of NON-PROGRAMMER/NON-DEVELOPER
it is a matter to just rename the buttons labels
and their targets... Am I correct?

Thanks so much!!

Xbox Bioses / Want To Install A 250gb Hd - Am I Compatible?
« on: March 15, 2007, 01:52:00 PM »
Gentlemen,
All the info I can get on my Xbox is the following:

From XBMC version 2.0.0 from end of September 2006
Xbox version: 1.6
Modchip: 49LF020A
Bios: Evox M8 Plus
Xbox Manufactured: China, 2005, Week 2, Line 3

From AID 3.01 tools section
Chip type: Homebrew (bf52)
Using Genuine BIOS: Evox M8 Plus
Bios MD5 Hash: 27138E744EB420AD8307987FFB87154D

That's it!

------------------

Part 1

Now, I wonder --- All Evox M8 Plus BIOS are already compatible
to HD's larger than 137GB (like the one I want - 250GB)?

If not, I will need to patch LBA48, correct?
Some time ago, from my retail HD I got some BIN files from C partition
before installing a 40GB disk --- They are called BIOS.BIN (256Kb), DISK.BIN, etc.
I kept them saved in my PC as backup.

-----------------

Part 2

Since I am able to open my very own BIOS.BIN using the EVtool_1.0.9
it looks like a interesting thing to do, since there are few options
that caught my attention.

Is that possible to really remove the ugly flubber animation and that
noisy "Vuoooooooooshhhh" sound? I hate the flubber intro...

I did see many tutorials teaching how to flash the bios,
but most of them uses EVOX. Can I do the same using
the flashing tools present in AID Installer Disc?

I see a FLASHING BIOS option in the tools menu but I
was afraid to mess inside there...

After reading some tutorials I assume that:
1. I will need my actual BIOS (a .bin file) - Already got from my past C: backup
2. Then I open it in my EVtool_1.0.9 and change everything I want
(removing flubber animation, patching LBA48 if needed)
3. Then I save the BIOS
4. Then I make a FTP upload to my C:/BIOS directory
5. ---- Now the question --- can I so use AID tools to flash the new BIOS to my chip?

I think there is no danger, since I am flashing my actual OWN BIOS,
and no some downloaded one...

Any important advice?
Thanks guys for the attention!

Cospefogo.

PS. I also did download from the usual place the files
M8plus_16.bin and M8plus.bin, both with 256Kb each.
The Info says M8plus_16.bin is the one for 1.6 and 1.6b Xboxes.

Opening it in my EvTool, I get the very same screen
as when I did open my backuped BIOS.BIN (only the BIOS MD5
is different.)

Xbox Bioses / Removing The Flubber Sound
« on: October 04, 2006, 07:07:00 PM »
Gentlemen,

I hate from deep inside of my soul that horrible FLUBBER SOUND
everytime I turn on my XBOX.

Is there a way to just remove the sounds?
I found few .WAV files in my C:
Something like CONTROL_ROOM.WAV or something like that.

Cheers,
C.

(XBMC) Skin Development / My Modded Xtv - Lite & Clean
« on: April 26, 2009, 04:32:00 PM »
Guys,

This was my last work regarding XBMC Gui.
I loved the xTV simplicity, but I was annoyed with some stuff I did no like,
for example - the selection bar. I hate the original Apple bar.
And also some other minor things.

Here is my ultimate skin.
The definitive.

And, one of the emulators in perfect style sync with the dash.
I did take a picture with my camera, because there is no way
to get shots from the Xport emus gui on the fly.

Gentlemen,

I am modding xTV skin to better suit my personal tastes and everything
has been accomplished with success, except for the CLOCK in the HOME SCREEN.

I already was able to bring back the FILE MANAGER (very useful for me) and the SHUTDOWN
button (I don't want to go inside two menus to just shutdown - I use only PS-One + Arcade
controllers, so no thumbstick button for me.)

However, it's a mistery for me to find where the code for the CLOCK is located inside
the /MEDIA/PAL directory. I can see the CLOCK only in the SHUTDOWN dialog... but what
file is it?

Any ideas?
Maybe Mr. Jezz_X knows?

All the best!
And, yes, I will post some shots here later!

Cospefogo.

Gentlemen,

I am not a python scripter but this idea just poped out
of my mind. Is that possible to have such a script?

There are few good websites out there with Game Genie codes,
Action Replay codes, FAQs and Walkthroughs (the latter ones all
in TXT format).

It could be awesome to be able to search for codes and
download faqs directly to Xbox HDD, and yet, browse
the TXT files with some text viewer!

Just ideas!
Please don't flame me!

XBMC for Xbox / Mp3 Lyrics - The Lyric Is Found But Not Shown!
« on: January 07, 2010, 07:38:00 PM »
Hey there, guys!

When I play a MP3 file I click on the Lyrics button (using xTV skin) and my Xbox connect to LYRICSWIKI.ORG perfectly fine. I assume it even finds the tune lyrics since it displays page 1 to X (1/2, 1/3, 1/6, etc), however, no text is shown in the lyrics box. Any idea how to fix this?

Best regards,
Cospefogo.

XBMC for Xbox / Osx Leopard Access Smb Shares From Xbmc On Xbox
« on: March 11, 2009, 03:34:00 PM »
Well,

I have a Mac Mini with a external 500GB HDD with all my music files.
I just shared some of my folders on the Mac Mini (OSX Leopard) and I can connect anytime from the XBMC dash using a correct SMB path on a new source, for example:
smb://10.1.1.3/Music

There's no mystery at all.
Cheers,

XBMC for Xbox / Taking Xbmc Dash Screenshots
« on: April 02, 2007, 01:34:00 PM »
Folks,

Is the XBMC Screenshot global key disabled in the recent builds?
I can't take any dash screenshots while pressing left thumbstick,
as instructed here:

http://www.xboxmediacenter.com/wiki/index.php?title=Taking_Screenshots_of_XBMC' class='bbc_url' title='External link' rel='nofollow external'>http://www.xboxmedia...enshots_of_XBMC

and here:

http://www.xboxmediacenter.com/wiki/index.php?title=Global_Controller' class='bbc_url' title='External link' rel='nofollow external'>http://www.xboxmedia...obal_Controller

Anyone else noticed this issue too?
Or it is that am I just getting crazy?

Thanks!
Cospefogo.
