TSOP flashing / Xbox Trying To Boot Once Then Shutting Off
« on: May 31, 2006, 10:49:00 PM »
I have a 1.0 xbox.  When I bought it it had a homebrew chip in it and also had the TSOP flashed.  I took out the homebrew chip, put in an X3, and flashed the TSOP back to the MS bios.  Now, months later, the xbox doesn't work when I try to boot without the chip.  It shuts off immediately, and boots to the X3.  Should I try to re-flash the TSOP?  Is there something inside that could short and cause this (I have been doing some circuitry inside)?  I'm not sure where to go with this.

Xbox360 LIVE / Blastacular Maps
« on: April 24, 2007, 09:20:00 PM »
Wow, it has been a while! :-P

Here's my rant, straight from my website:

QUOTE

I'm upset with Microsoft/Bungie.  Halo 2 has a couple new maps that are downloadable via xbox live. I paid $4 for these. Now, whenever I try to download them, I get this error:

Installation of content failed.  See www.xbox.com for more support information.

(IMG:http://memberuploads.xbox-scene.com/uploads/2007_04_25/03_19_47_0420072208_thumb.jpg' target='_blank'>http://memberuploads.xbox-scene.com/uploads/2007_04_25/03_19_47_0420072208_thumb.jpg)

I have called xbox on 5 different occasions.  Twice they were too busy to take my calls and hung up on me.  The other three times they were less than helpful.  Yes, I cleared the cache.  Yes, I tried using someone else's disc.  Yes, I have tried over and over to download them for the last week.  Yes, every one of my friends that I play with on xbox live has the maps except for me.

Although I'm the only one I know that doesn't have the maps, a quick web search will confirm that this is a widespread problem.  It's ridiculous.  If you make a product, you need to test it fully before you release it to the public.  If your product flops, you need to do everything you can to rectify the situation.  Don't hang up on your customers.  Don't make them spend an hour on the phone to tell them, "Oh yeah, we know about that issue.  Just keep trying."  If you have a customer that pays for a product and is unable to install it, give that customer a refund.  Better yet, mail a disc that will install the product automatically.  And then him a refund.

So, any ideas on how to fix this?  It's frustrating to pay for something and then not receive it.  (I'm on an xbox 360).  Please help!

Yeah.  It's the same 10/100 ethernet I believe.  Should work fine.

Can't afford an HDTV right now so I figure that I'll play my 360 on my monitor with the VGA cables.  I just want to know if it will show up as 16:9 even though my monitor is 4:3?  Also, do any of you out there use this type of setup?  If so, are you happy with it?

Thanks.

You can set it to standard or wide screen resolutions (1280x1024 max in 4:3, 1360x768 max in 16:9)

I think VGA looks great with the 360.

Forza Motorsport 2 / Forza On 3 Screens - Doesn't Work.
« on: February 10, 2006, 07:22:00 PM »
This didn't work.  I have two original xboxes and an Xbox 360.  I loaded Forza into the 360, and loaded the other boxes with backups on their respective hard drives.  I tried to use the multi-screen function to make the game interesting.  When the race is about to start, right at the end of the countdown, the game freezes.  It doesn't come back.  Any thoughts?

Here's a picture of what I'm trying to do:

Technical USB / Wireless / Network Forum / Usb Idea
« on: January 01, 2006, 12:29:00 PM »
I posted this in the general X360 forums, but there was no answer either way.

I haven't been able to get Windows Media Connect to work with my setup.  I'm looking for a way around this.  I can make a male-male USB cable.  Is it possible to get a folder on my PC to function as a USB flash device?  Then I could use "USB Networking" to share my files.  Any insight?

XBMC for Xbox / What Is The Best Version Of Xbmc Currently Out?
« on: January 23, 2006, 08:17:00 PM »
The thread right below this one, http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=483513' class='bbc_url' title=''>here, suggests that the next XBMC compiled by T3CH will include the Xored trainer launcher.  I'd wait for it.

Newbie Chat / Email New Topic Notification
« on: December 25, 2005, 10:49:00 PM »
Hi,

I get an email every time someone posts a new topic in "Newbie Chat."  I will probably get one when I post this topic.  I checked my subcribed forums and topics, and I don't have any.  Therefore, I shouldn't be getting these emails because I am not subscribed to it.

How do I turn this off?  It's an annoyance.

Newbie Chat / Legal Consequences

I heard a story about a guy selling pre-modded xboxes loaded with games who went to jail.  This could be a myth, I'm not sure.

Aside from idiots like that, I was wondering if anyone has been prosecuted for possessing bioses?  Pirated games (on media or HDD)?  Roms?

I'm not endorsing piracy, just curious.

Team Xodus Chips (Xenium) / Xbox Live With Upgraded Hdd
« on: October 17, 2005, 07:06:00 AM »
QUOTE(3nigmat1c @ Oct 17 2005, 06:51 AM)
For some reason every time I do a HDD upgrade, I cannot get on XBOX live.  IT freezes whenever I try to access the network settings or when the game trys to access the network settings.  If I unplug the network cable and then press start i.e. Halo it doesn't freeze but the minute I go to Xbox live it does.  This has happened with multiple Xbox's and chips so i know neither of them are the problem, I've tried two HDDs, a 160 and a 40.  I can get on live with my original HDD but that's it.

Team Xodus Chips (Xenium) / Adding Dashboard To Spice
« on: October 07, 2005, 03:32:00 PM »
Get on http://www.xbox-scene.com/articles/xbins.php' class='bbc_url' title='External link' rel='nofollow external'>xbins and download Slayer's Auto Installer.  I think it's in .iso format.  Burn it onto a CD-RW using DVDDecrypter.

If you put this into your xbox, it will enable FTP.  You can choose to install evox as a dashboard from the menu as well.

They've been talking about it for long enough.  Finally you can buy them.  I just ordered mine.

Team Omega Chips (DuoX) / Duox2 Problem
« on: February 08, 2006, 01:54:00 PM »
I installed a DUOX2 on a 1.6B box the other day.  I think that we have a loose connection somewhere, but I'm not sure where. The red flashing light on the chip does nothing.  We were able to tinker with it and get it to try to boot, but it wouldn't go to the flashbios screen.  I used a LPC rebuild board.  Any insight as to which point might be bad?

Xbox Case/Hardware modding / My New Paint Job

I do not consider myself a painter.  This is the first xbox I have ever painted.  I took my time, and I like the results.  See the pictures.
