Xbox360 General / Hardware Chat / Open Tray Lite-on Question.
« on: January 30, 2012, 12:07:00 AM »
Basically "shit happens" - it could have just been that the worm motor was jammed or something. All LiteOn drives (at least on the old style 360s) seem to suffer from the getting-stuck-at-the-top issue, btw. Take a 1mm washer and place it at the far end of the laser's rail, then glue it in place (glue it to the bracket where the rail is held in place). The laser won't ever get past the "point of no return" if you do that, and it shouldn't have any issues playing discs either (until the laser or motor dies).

Xbox360 General / Hardware Chat / Xk3y + No Dvd Drive Connected To It

This isn't exactly the answer you're looking for - but you could just pop the board out of the drive, mask it off, and put it somewhere in the case where it won't interfere with your mod.

Xbox360 General / Hardware Chat / How Do I Repair A Broken Sync Button?
« on: January 16, 2012, 03:02:00 PM »
You need to find another button that has the same specs...and learn how to solder and de-solder.

Howdy. I'm no stranger to the RROD, E74 and symptoms but this console has me a little puzzled. I bought an RROD console that I reflowed (as in SMD rework machine w/ preheater, not a heat gun) and JTAG'ed, though I didn't pay much attention to it until after I JTAG'ed it. Every time I use it, I get a very rhythmic pattern of completely clear picture alternating with some kind of "scanline" effect. The system is not overheating (60C CPU, 49C GPU, 53C EDRAM, 33C MOBO temps), and it starts this as soon as I boot the console. It's not the typical "line effect" that often precedes the RROD or E74. The console doesn't crash or lock up or anything either. It looks like electrical interference quite honestly, and this effect happens no matter what resolution it's in, and on both VGA and component video. All of the inductors look like they're intact, all the caps seem to be good, and there aren't any bent pins in the A/V socket. Anyone know what I'm talking about? Anything I should be looking for? I have another console that I reflowed and JTAG'ed at the same time, and it puts out a perfect image all the time, so I know it's not just the TV/AC adapter/cables, etc.

If it's 0001 (4 lights, 4 lights, 4 lights, 1 light) then you're creating a short somewhere. Is this the error code that you were receiving before you did the x-clamp replacement (I would never call i a fix, because it doesn't fix anything).

If any of your games are region free, then the saves will still work. The HDD should work just fine as it is.

Xbox360 General / Hardware Chat / Temperature Sensor Trace?
« on: November 02, 2008, 10:13:00 PM »
That would be a terrible idea, though, if your 360 won't boot, then I guess you'd have to. I don't know where said component is, but if you find out (and this actually works), then you'd want to 12v mod your fans, or at  least 9v mod them, otherwise they'll always run at idle speed, and your system will overheat and die. Take off your CPU heatsink and make sure there's a solid square imprint with Microsoft written backwards *clearly visible* in the thermal paste. If there's not, then that's your problem.

The pins are soldered to the board, and thus so is the black casing, technically, but it's very much removable, and if you're patient, pretty easy to do.

Wrong forum, but get your error code (read the FAQ in the general/hardware forum), and then you'll know what your problem is.

Xbox360 General / Freezing During Loading?
« on: October 02, 2011, 03:37:00 PM »
Freezing with no response from the console is typically a symptom of the RROD on it's way (or returning), or possibly a bad HDD.

Xbox360 BST (Xbox360 Items ONLY) / For Sale - Jtag'ed Xenon Console Only
« on: September 23, 2011, 01:37:00 PM »
I haven't sold any consoles in a while, but I have very good feedback. Anyway...

JTAG'ed Xenon Console - 13599 dashboard, drive flashed with latest firmware. Console has not been banned from Xbox Live (don't know if that even matters anymore). Console has been reflowed for RROD (by myself using an actual rework station), I will include a 30 day warranty. 12v mod has been applied to GPU fan, heat sinks have been upgraded of course, U6T1 has been bridged to prevent updates from killing the JTAG/blowing the efuse. $100 - includes FedEx shipping anywhere in the US

If you're interested, send me a PM. I am not looking for any trades. I have two of these available.

Or, you could just use the adapter that comes with the Kinect unit itself.

The question that everyone wants to know - what dashboard is on each one?

Hello everyone, I've got some more console to sell, here we go...

1. JTAG'ed Xenon Xbox 360 w/ 60GB HDD - This console has never been on Xbox Live, and was purchased recently from an owner who has not used it in years (had the blades dashboard on it too). It has *never had RROD* but I went ahead and upgraded the heat sink to the heat pipe version, and applied fresh Arctic Silver 5 to the CPU and the GPU. freeBOOT 0.32 installed w/ 9199 dashboard, will ship with original NAND, XBR3 image, freeBOOT image, kv_ec, and DVD firmware (modded with Samsung iXtreme LT) on CD. Not banned from Xbox Live. Console, power supply, component HD a/v wireless controller and 60GB hard drive - $225 includes USPS Priority shipping.

2. iXtreme LT Samsung Xenon Xbox 360 - This console been reflowed for RROD (error 0020) using an AOYUE 968 by myself. GPU heat sink has been replaced with the newer heat pipe version, and I applied Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste. I will guarantee against RROD for 60 days and have had 100% success with my reflows. Not banned from Xbox Live. Console only - $65 includes USPS Priority shipping.

3. iXtreme LT 1.2 BenQ Falcon Xbox 360 - This console been reflowed for E74 using an AOYUE 968 by myself, and I applied Arctic Silver 5 thermal paste. I will guarantee against RROD/E74 for 60 days and have had 100% success with my reflows. Not banned from Xbox Live. Console only - $75 includes USPS Priority shipping.

4. Brand new Jasper (512MB) Xbox 360 w/ 20GB HDD - Received as a replacement for a Falcon I sent in. Completely stock system, has never even been used (hard drive, power supply and cables are not brand new, only the console is). Service date of 01/17/2010. Not banned from Xbox Live (completely stock). Console, power supply, component HD a/v cables, wireless controller and 20GB hard drive - $135 includes USPS Priority shipping.

I will have 2 keyvaults for sale later in the day as well (not banned of course), and tomorrow (hopefully) I will be adding a JTAG'ed Elite console.

It's got 14.2A for 12v, right? Is it Xell or Xellous, and will you include copies of all of the original NAND images, etc? I've never seen a Falcon with a Samsung drive before...has it ever had RROD or anything like that?
