MXM ActionScripting Forum / ActionScripting Questions

QUOTE (jqcc @ Feb 25 2004, 09:52 AM)
Please do not flame me.....real noobie here
trying to do a font/audio exploit per the one I have in EVOX but MXM is better as I can detect whether what is running currently

I am having problems with this command

delete c:\fonts\xbox book.xtf

and rename c:\fonts\xbox book.xtf xbox

What is the correct format

You need to quote the file paths, since there are spaces (otherwise, ActionScript sees several arguments, where you only have one or two)

...and of course, when quoting, you need to "escape" the backslashes by doubling them up. This is only needed when quoting, because MXM reads quoted strings a little differently and the backslash becomes a special character.

delete "c:\\fonts\\xbox book.xtf"
rename "c:\\fonts\\xbox book.xtf" "xbox"

Cats love it, even small children apparently like playing with it. Xbox360 LIVE / Unbanned?
« on: April 26, 2011, 05:39:00 PM »

I recently updated the dash for Portal 2, and we've been playing that on a previously banned console. Today, we kicked it on to try out the co-op mode of Portal 2, and I noticed the updates to ads and such in the dash... and I was logged into Xbox Live.

My Gold membership long expired, but I'm in, and able to do stuff like download demos and such.

Very cool, if I've been given a second chance. Anybody else have this luck?

Action Replay released.

It's just a damn Save Game Manager. We modders already have that... check out

Lame, very lame. No fears about cheaters on XBL, so RELAX.

I see there's been some housecleaning going on.

Good to see this forum up.

Gamers Chat / The Worst Games For The Xbox

My vote goes to two Jap titles:

Ugh. Gay gay gay gay. No, actually this game is an offense to gay people, too. Simply the worst I've seen yet. :::shudder::: This is why reading the NFO file is important, people!!! 'nuff said.

Jockey Road
Geez. Nice that you can speed up the cut-scenes with the "X" button, and it's even slightly funny to see characters talking like chipmunks, but COME ON!!! Did we need to see an hour's worth of cut scenes before one race??? Worse of all, that was an hour's worth SPEEDED UP!!!

How about your most hated titles?

Gamers Chat / Tony Hawk 3 Riot Cd: Sound, But No Video?
« on: August 07, 2002, 03:58:00 PM »
I'm running an S-Video A/V cable (US NTSC Xbox / EvoX2.2) and I was wondering if anybody else has had problems with the Riot "CD Version" release of Tony Hawk 3, *OR* conversely, if they've been successful.

Please note what type of cable you use as well.

This is odd, because it's the first game I've had a problem with so far, out of 20+ so far.

This is no longer a "homebrew" issue.

There is now a "Game Hacking" forum.

Thread moved.

Xbox Homebrew Software / Menux

Do NOT use CPX-MenuX, which is basically a rip of the M$ demo system menu. Media X Menu is a directly compatible replacement, and you can use one of several ISO builders (Like Craxtion) to properly configure and layout your DVD-R (Go to the DVD-R forum for details on those)

There is a random bug with MenuX that causes some menu entries to not work. Early on, I encountered this, and set about creating a replacement. MXM was the result (first it was a disk menu program, later a dashboard). MenuX does NOT work on the HD.

People say that MXM 0.9n.5 works nicely for DVD-R menus (Current release is 0.9n.6), and the NEXT release I will optimize for DVD-R menus once again.

As for where to put the files, the instructions are very clear, but as I said, use Craxtion of some other compilation builder app.

Please, for your sake as well as ours, first read' class='bbc_url' title=''>Things You Must Know About The Xbox:, read EVERYTHING there. Then go to the' class='bbc_url' title='External link' rel='nofollow external'>main Xbox-Scene page and hit the tutorials links and other informative links found there. After that, in the forums, scan through the various pinned threads in the many technical forums here, particularly those that are relavent to your interests.

Hang out in the Newbie Chat and FAQ forums, browsing and scanning various threads there.... then if you still have questions, search before posting. Try a few variations... don't make a half-assed attempt, either. Check over the search options to make sure it's set up correctly.

If you've HONESTLY exhausted all of those steps, and are still bewildered by something, ask away. We'll recognize the question as a legitimate, or rarely asked question, instead of a FAQ or blatantly newb question.

Xbox Homebrew Software / Is There Any Dash/app That Can Do....
« on: July 27, 2003, 07:25:00 PM »
QUOTE (myrdd1n @ Jul 27 2003, 09:15 PM)
continous uninterrupted audio/mp3 playback while another app/game is running?

ie, is there any app or dashboard that can load a bunch of mp3s and continousely plays back music off the cd or hdd and then i can load a game and it still continues to play the music? I think avalaunch has this now. Is there an app that does this ?

No. There is no such app, and given how impractical it is, unlikely there ever will be such a capability.

Xbox is not "Windows". Apps cannot run simultaneously. Forget the notion, it cannot be done.
