Has anyone else ever had a problem with the comic book reader? Ive just recently put it onto my xbox but now everytime I load it, it just freezes on the first screen.

never played with it much, i got excited until i found out it couldnt do smb or cbr/rars. it did work fine on cbz's, no lockups if i remember correctly.

There are probably already a fair amount of direct video rss feeds out there...just need that podcast script likely...or a script that does what the FireAnt program does, search out media links on RSS...

http://fireant.tv/about' class='bbc_url' title='External link' rel='nofollow external'>http://fireant.tv/about

As for starting a webpage with community links...already a ton out there...might as well use them. I mean thats what youtube is really, and there's a script for that...

As for a website that automagically creates links from a multitude of websites...how is that any better than having to update various scripts? I mean someone would have to constantly change the the backend of the website to make it work with the other websites...same work...different medium.

Just dont see how the idea is any different. sad.gif

XBMC Python Scripting Forum / Winamp.com & Audiri.com
« on: February 09, 2006, 10:23:00 AM »
Sorta surprising no one has created a Winamp.com script for

http://www.winamp.com/videos/' class='bbc_url' title='External link' rel='nofollow external'>http://www.winamp.com/videos/
http://www.winamp.com/music/' class='bbc_url' title='External link' rel='nofollow external'>http://www.winamp.com/music/

Someone kick me in my nuts if im missing a script that already does this... smile.gif

Also the following site looks cool:

http://www.audiri.com/' class='bbc_url' title='External link' rel='nofollow external'>http://www.audiri.com/

Its sorta like the old mp3.com, but has music and video available for download...they use flash for streaming their stuff...but a good portion of songs have actual mp3 or avi downloads too...

check it out...might be a good script candidate if someone was willing to spend the time...*shrug*

Wish I had more time after I get out of work...i should brush up on my python skills anyways...  rolleyes.gif

XBMC for Xbox / Xbmc Upnp With Windows Vista Rc 2
« on: October 12, 2006, 08:32:00 AM »
CODE
Run secpol.msc
Go to: Local Policies > Security Options

Find "Network Security: LAN Manager authentication level"
Change Setting from "Send NTLMv2 response only"
to
"Send LM & NTLM - use NTLMv2 session security if negotiated"

Vista defaults to only send the more secure NTLMv2 protocol, which  NAS devices / Samba(xbmc) do not support.

Or you can just wait until its not RC2 anymore... wink.gif

XBMC for Xbox / Playing X264 Mp4, Slow....

Hi,

I used the 2006.01.18 T3CH built XBMC and try to play a X264 codec mp4 file and it is very very slow it's not watchable.

Any idea how i can make it play faster? The file i'm talking about is an anime call "One Piece" from kaizoku-fansubs.com. They have the detail regarding the codec and stuff....

Thanks

No possible way. Sorry. H.264 class codecs generally require some serious processing power. The higher the resolution, the more processing power it needs. The general rule is that a 1.5gig P4 processor and 512 megs of ram are the minimum requirements(from what ive read...google it yourself if you want a more accurate picture).

Obviously the XBOX 733mhz proc and 64megs of ram, just wouldn't be enough...

Sorry...

That being said anime groups and apple seem to be the only ones that are really pushing it. And the anime groups still release in xvid(most do at least).

Awesome project, wish i could help, but only have one xbox right now.

I have a switch that can port mirror also...which would be ideal for capturing with ethereal(or whatever its called now)...

Wrong forum though...this would be more suited to the http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showforum=8' class='bbc_url' title=''>Development or http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showforum=36' class='bbc_url' title=''>"Utilities that run on your pc" forums.

If I get a friend over anytime soon with another xbox, i'll see what I can whip up.
