Newbie Chat / Can I Plug In A Xbox 360 To A Sdtv?

Gameplay should be identical (aside from say, missing out on widescreen), graphics will take a noticeable hit.

Xbox360 General / Hardware Chat / Open Tray Lite-on Question.
« on: January 30, 2012, 12:07:00 AM »
Basically "shit happens" - it could have just been that the worm motor was jammed or something. All LiteOn drives (at least on the old style 360s) seem to suffer from the getting-stuck-at-the-top issue, btw. Take a 1mm washer and place it at the far end of the laser's rail, then glue it in place (glue it to the bracket where the rail is held in place). The laser won't ever get past the "point of no return" if you do that, and it shouldn't have any issues playing discs either (until the laser or motor dies).

Xbox360 General / Hardware Chat / Kinect Doesn't Turn On In Jtag Xbox 360

I'm assuming you already know this, but if you're other consoles are "Slim" 360s, then they don't need the extra power supply for the Kinect, but the old style consoles do. Not insulting your intelligence, you just didn't mention what type of consoles you are using.

Xbox360 General / Hardware Chat / Xk3y + No Dvd Drive Connected To It

This isn't exactly the answer you're looking for - but you could just pop the board out of the drive, mask it off, and put it somewhere in the case where it won't interfere with your mod.

Xbox360 General / Hardware Chat / How Do I Repair A Broken Sync Button?

$10 to replace a sync button is an awesome price. Send it to steveo1978, that's my suggestion.

You need to find another button that has the same specs...and learn how to solder and de-solder.

It's going to be like the LiteOn board clones, only it's going to be a full Xbox 360 motherboard clone, with RGH already programmed into it. MSRP about $900.

Wasn't there a rumor that Microsoft was going to release a new version of the Xbox 360 that only supports 1080p via HDMI? Perhaps this is said model? Did I imagine this?

QUOTE(ChrishX @ Sep 14 2011, 06:33 PM)' class='bbc_url' title=''>' alt='View Post' />

the chip MUST stay in the console and the exploit MUST be run that way every time you boot the xbox.
The older JTAG exploit was a software exploit, this one is hardware. You cannot downgrade the bootloader to an exploitable one since the efuses are destroyed and an older bootloader would not start.

So the JTAG hack doesn't require hardware or an exploit to be run every time you boot the console? That's news to me.

Hmmm, I bet the next revision of the Xbox 360 will be just like the current one, only the entire board will be covered in epoxy.

You can also get 0022 from flashing the wrong CPU key.

It can't be 100% solderless, unless if includes the tray motor as well. So, technically it has 5 solder points, but they are sub-novice level solder points. Anyway, replacing an IC isn't the hardest thing in the world, as long as you don't bend any of the legs in the process. Remove with a heatgun and suction tool, clean off and replace solder on the pads, blah blah blah. I think it's easier than repairing traces (like bottom of the 360 motherboard traces).

Why is anyone concerned with removing the IC from the board? Dump your firmware, flash it to this new need to remove the IC. Unless I'm horribly mistaken.

Don't really care about running backups, but this is pretty awesome.
