The only kits that are non solder are xk3y and Wasabi.

ah - what he means is the Zephyr and Xenon's don't take well to the rgh process.

No power or no boot up ?  There is a strong difference between those two.

You would not have been able to re-write to the Nand without power.  The 3.3 volt and 5v would have been there.

Hopefully your original Nand dumps are clean.  Not jacked up by creating and writing ECC.

But seeing as how you did a wrongful jtag - that might be the case.

What I would do personally:  Check on the secondary code to the 3 rrod.  Upload J-runner to the PC - at least 289 build.
Get a Nandx device or JR-p made by TX

Write the original Nand dump back using the Nandx.

Seeing as how this jtag was way too late for install  ..... did you ever have Xell boot up onscreen and reveal your keys ?   -  Wouldn't think so

Having the Cpu key is crucial for completing Nand exploit.  That's where the wall hit you

Jtagging of any style won't work on a console with that high of Dashboard.  Security has been built into the various Dashboard updates to prevent jtag.  Consoles have to be real early to catch the jtag.

There are guides out there that let you know what CB and Dashboards can still be jtagged.  You are out of luck with jtag for 16203

An RGH method has to be use to exploit a Nand with this high of Dash.  You will probably need to use the R-Jtag kit by Team Xecuter.

Ditch the LPT cable.  Way old school method.  Can be buggy too.

The R-jtag kit will come with a JR-P v2 programmer.  Real nice - works great.

Use J-runner  ... the build designed for r-jtag.  Its build number is above 289.

Now - write your original Nand dump back to your Falcon.  Remove all the jtag wiring.

Review the R-jtag tutorials closely.  Then start over

WILGO-45 ........THANKS SO VERY MUCH for your reply. I was a plumber so I can solder well. Remember me please in case I have any more questions and bless you for reading newbe post and providing your experience to us clueless others.
old_as_Dirt

That's funny - I do heating, cooling and plumbing work too.  And do electronics work on the side.

Electronic soldering is a little different from sweating copper.  Uses a different flux.  60/40 ... tin/ lead solder is best.  I might use a .032 diameter rosin core.  Good quality irons are very important.  A $15 dollar - 25 watt iron is not good enough.

Don't use anything from the plumbing category.  Most of that is too dense - and acid base.

Tip styles are very important too.

So - you posted a new topic - that it was urgent to get a hold of me.  What's up?

I've done repairs and mods for more than several Xbox Scene members.  You can read comments here.

http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=740159' class='bbc_url' title=''>http://forums.xbox-s...howtopic=740159

So - how can I help?

You're gonna need extra kits for this model.  And the ability to solder well.

The console model is probably the Corona version 4.  On these models, MS has developed further encryption to keep basic drive flashing down.

The Nand has to be dumped and Xell loaded to get the keys.  Its pretty much RGH'ing a console without creating or writing an image.

You need: a Read/Write kit for a Corona, a Post Fix Adapter, the J-runner App (build 289), and either a DGX or CoolRunner glitch board.

And you will also need either a LTU or LTU 2 board.  So yeah - this process costs more for this model.  But, its worth it.  Oh- you will also need the appropriate version of JungleFlasher too.

Good soldering skills are vital.  Kits can be found at Xconsoles.  I recommend only Team Xecuter products.  They are the most reliable.  Plus they have all the tutorials online.

I was reading your response and saw that i might be able to use my pc`s SATA port. would this work i have a
Gateway gt5656 with a AMD ATHLON 64 X2 processor. Im going to upload some pics of the pc motherboard. Please tell me if this way will work

I don't know if your Sata ports will work perfectly for interfacing with JungleFlasher and the 360 dvd drive.  Its worth a try.  You might have to change some settings - but I don't have exact details on that.

I use my available Sata ports for things sometimes - and have no issues.  But I've not used them directly while using JungleFlasher.

One of the challenges with LiteOn 16d4's is the Spi Lock.  TX references that some chipsets might not work using the Sata route.  And why they say the x360 usb pro 2 is essential.

But try it  .... see what results you get.

The other thing is powering the drive while flashing it.  A Sata port won't power.  You need either a 360 usb pro 2, or CK3 ... or some other kind of adapter.  I do not recommend using the console to power the drive.  Some people have had unfortunate incidents doing that.

Go to Team Xecuter dot com  .... browse their tutorials closely.  There is info everywhere.  Those boxed and colored sections have some real precise insight.

Where is the cheapest place i can get a x360 usb pro v2 from?

OK - Trinity & Liteon 16d4 - winbond

For this 16d4 and JungleFlasher use, you're probably gonna need that x360 usb pro 2.  If your computer's motherboard has a Sata port - you might be able to interface that way, with spending no money.  But you will still need to power the drive correctly.

The x360 usb pro2 handles interfacing and powering the drive.  Plus the drive has some other bonus features.

Winbond can be Kamikazed.  But it takes patience and a delicate touch. FIRST - using JungleFlasher, get a Dummy bin read of the drive.  And be sure to save it in a desktop folder. That is all the identify info of the drive.  If things go badly; you still have a salvation route.

Very Important - get that Dummy bin and DriveKey first.  Don't do anything else before that.

The other option with Winbond is using a replacement pcb built by TX.

Now - go to Team Xecuter and review the tutorials on Drive flashing for 16d4.  Or review the pdf files in the JungleFlasher App itself.  It is step by step.  If you have a phat 360 drive just lying around; practice with that just getting used to JungleFlasher.

Getting a USB pro2:  Xconsoles, Modchipcentral - maybe used on Ebay or this very site.  Guess you could check Amazon too.

hey

You are kind of mixing and matching some things that don't quite pair together.

First - what model of dvd drive do you have?  LiteON 16d4 or 16d5  .... or a Hitachi ?

If it is Liteon 16d4  ... from there you need to determine if it is MXIC or Winbond style.  Winbond is the only style that uses the Kamikaze tool.  And Kamikaze takes a practiced hand.  If you have never done any delicate soldering - then you are not ready for that tool.

MXIC uses a different tool hack method.  But both can use the replacement write able pcb.

If you have the Liteon 16d5 or the Hitachi - then that's a whole different ball of wax.  You will have to Nand dump and partially RGH the console.

So if you have a 16d5 - you need to know the model style of your console motherboard.

A good basic flashing tool to have is the X360 USB pro version 2.  Great tool.  An all in one.

Give me some exact info  .... and I will get back to you.

You can also go to Team Xecuter to look over various tutorials.  You might get mixed up - so be careful

i flashed this xbox ages ago and its been working fine, i understand what what your saying about bad optics, but ive even tried working lasers in it and it still wont read  ,all i get from this drive is open tray message ,but like i said ive tried new lasers and even pot tweaked them ,ive even put bthe lasers out of other working dg16d2s drives into it and still get open tray message

You said ages ago  ....

Out of date, incompatible firmware could be your issue.  If you are using like Ixtreme 1.91 - that could be the problem.

Flash the drive back to stock for the correct corresponding Dashboard version to your console.  See where that puts you in functionality.  Custom firmware comes later.  Use LT 3.0

What dvd drive board mod did you do for this LiteOn?  The simple probe of MXP01 ... or cutting traces.  The cut and patched traces could be a problem

After a game disc is placed in the drive ... does it say Open Tray or Unrecognized Disc onscreen?

Open Tray is generally an issue with the Optic.  Unrecognized - is usually another issue.

So you know - there are a bunch of crap optics out there.  Unreliable vendors

Your console is either a Falcon or a Jasper.

There are a lot of variables here.  You might be getting bad optics.  You might be getting incorrect optics.  You might have a Firmware misalignment base on the console's Dashboard.  You might be reading and flashing the dvd drives incorrectly.  Maybe not getting a proper Outro.

Have you been using JungleFlasher?

What is the precise issue you are having with the Lite On dvd drive ?

That might help us to provide you with the best fix option.

What is your console model?

Sell the Hitachi 59.  Get another Lite On 16d2 - and assign the Drive Key.

I think you could assign the Drive Key to the Hitachi.  It just wouldn't be Live safe.  So playing games offline with the Hitachi

With the DeMon installed to your console, updating with J-runner will be a breeze.

Just need that USB to USB mini cord and knowledge on how to use J-runner.
