Title: Best Lpc Chip To Recovery Bad Tsop Flashed.
Post by: venturahighway on October 15, 2003, 05:54:00 PM
one point on bottom, one point on top for your board.

any LPC mod works, put tsop_d6.bin on it.
for your board even evox_matrix_tsop.bin works.

i don't know what you mean by bright,  soldered?

So all ya need to flash your TSOP with you LPC mod (say X2 or Cheapmod) is to simply flash your LPC with tsop_d6.bin(solder the 2 posts on top and bottom) then use EvolutionX Flash TSOP 1mb to flash your TSOP? Also, Am I correct in stating that v1.0's need 1mb flash for the bios?? I know there are tut's out there but some are fairly confusing at some parts.

PS-- I have read that you must disable D0 on LPC aswell in order to flash the TSOP?? Correct?

On the buttom of the board, i also place some soilder to connect those two dots to connect those two dots on buttom board. Then jump the wire which from the top on it. Is it correct?

Well, i turn on after connect that wire, then my xbox don't show any pic on my TV. Also, i can reject the dvd drive tray.. Whats going on now?

onimu: yes connect those points.  you must have bridged something on accident.

giddyniggy:  unground d0 1 second after power on. there are some other steps.  find candyman's posts.  1.0 are 1M

venturahighway,

I have searched for Candyman and all I can find is his post with a Cameleon chip using a v1.3 Xbox. I have a V1.0 with an X2.2 lite LPC mod. Now from reading various posts I see that I have to solder the 2 jumpers on top and 2 on bottom (not sure about A15???) Then using my 2.2 Lite, boot up my xbox, turn the mod to disable (using switch that comes included with chip??) then use the EvolutionX CD that boots up to flash 1mb Bios onto my TSOP.. Is this correct?

Giggy

PS--Does the Bios on my 2.2 Lite have to be anything special? (Evox-d6-matrix bios) or can it be the X2 4977 bios I have on the chip already?

ground A15 on boot, then remove before flashing
yes, switch off chip (opens d0) as box boots (~1 sec).

must put tsop d6.bin on modchip.
with v1.0 you can use evox_matrix_tsop too.
yes, must have evox cd in drive.

make a 1M bios with tsop_d6 +  tsop_d6 + 4977 + 4977

this way you can recover your modchip when you are done (and verify that chip is installed right).

How did you manage to fuck up your TSOP if you have no idea which solder points enable TSOP flashing?????  If you never enabled TSOP flash on your Xbox, then how can your TSOP be bad?

tsop D6 bios..I am assuming that this is just the evox-D6 bios since I cant find anything on Efnet that is name that other then the evox_matrix_tsop bios

Ok this is what I did... Made a CD-RW copy of Slayers2.1 with modd'ed bios, M7 instead of x2_4976 (1mb size).

Flashed my X2.2 Lite with tsop_d6+tsop_d6+M7+M7.
Soldered the 2 jumpers on top and bottom of the mobo.
Soldered a wire from LPC to mobo (TSOP.p11 to +5V) since I have a v1.0 with a samsung.
Soldered A15 to ground(one of the screw holes)
Booted up, with CD-RW in drive, after ~1sec switched off the chip (to disable).
Slayers booted up, went to Flash TSOP (1mb) selected my M7 bios on there.
Removed A15 from ground before flashing
Hit flash, went throught the process...erased and said flashed. System shut off.
Rebooted with chip off and all I got was original bootup

what did I do wrong?

did it recognize your tsop?

maybe you booted off the M7 and flashed over it?

did you test the tsop_d6 without disabeling the chip, to make sure that it would not boot?

or check what is on the X2.
maybe you booted off the tsop_d6 and flashed over it.

It recognized the TSOP said AMD and flashed.....

Not sure cause I have never flashed aTSOP before...but I think it might be an issue with booting up with M7 or something..

Guess I will keep trying...how do you tell if it isnt booting up with M7?

isn't AMD your modchip?

if it won't boot w/o pulling the enable jumper, but will when you do, then it is the tsop_d6

at least that is how evox_matrix_tsop works

ya after doing it over and over again, I am just flashing my mod over and over. Now could this be due to the reason that I am not diasabling the chip fast enough on boot up? I am pretty sure that all my jumpers are soldered well, along with A18.

But if the mod was really %100 disabled then I guess that it wouldnt take the flash...guess it is a timing issue at my end??

disableing the chip just opens the connection between ground and d0.  the chip can still be flashed.  put a jumper on the flash protect.

ahh ok...so just disable the chip...then make sure to enable the flash protection...which forces to flash the TSOP instead....makes sense..lol..prolly forgot to to that

no, it should not matter.  it is just to make sure you don't flash the modchip again.

make sure you are booting the tsop_d6 bios.  it should hang if the modchip enable is left alone.

does it?

When I followed the instructions you posted..I flashed my 2.2 lite with tsop_d6+tsop_d6+M7+M7.  Moved the jumper to disable for mod after ~1sec...System still booted up to Slayers CD that was in the drive...but each time I tried to flash TSOP I got my modchip instead...Think I am gonna give this method up and go the easy way with 007 AUF, saves me all the hasle
Seems much easier to boot up with the save game and then flash the chip with the 2 points soldered ofcourse
