Xbox-Scene hits another milestone - 275,000 members and counting-- Posted by HSDEMONZ on March 14 12:02 EST
Actually we hit the 275,000 members mark over a week ago with HaloNut117 registering an account. Welcome aboard. We are currently positioning ourselves to better serve the community, adding new devs and teams like Blackbolt skinning crew. New hardware/servers are being setup, with the first of many steps completed this past weekend. Also, a new look is coming. For those keeping score, we're closing in on a half million topics/threads, with almost 3 million replies.
The staff of XS would like to thank the membership for keeping us on top, and for your continued interest and support.
HSDEMONZ, Admin

The Xbox-Scene forums sure have grown in size since I visited them for the first time! Keep up the good work.
-
WOW, Congrats guys. Do you know why you have so many members? Cause you guys rock
-
Indeed, this has been the best place to come to for all aspects of xbox gaming, if not the ONLY place. I've been here for over a year now and I can say that with time, this site just gets better and better!
thanks for providing such an awesome place for all of us modders to congrigate!

I'll second that

Congratulations.
By the way, does this number also include the many OPA's (One Post Accounts) which were created and abandoned/banned? In that case, it's no wonder Xbox-Scene hit that numbert that fast.

lol yeah, they should really make it so you cant start a topic untill you have a certain number of posts. After all, most newbie questions can be answered with a search

wow. i cant believe how many people there are. i too would love for the search to come back. Ishmo.

true as that may be, the newbies would just swarm other threads with new questions in their replys
EDIT:
I too would like to see the advanced search come back!
Keep up the good work XS

That wouldn't be a bad idea. Although there are some pretty legitimate questions that havn't been answered yet and warrant a new post. I personally have been reading and searching for a couple years now and only have 37 posts. :-) That method would certainly clean up though. Unless people started posting complete crap on other threads just to get their posts up. Wouldn't that be a mess. :-) Keep up the good work here.

The only problem is that the search engine has been offline for some time. Google search simply sucks for a forum.

Great. Fix the search when you have time left.

Also, a new look is coming.
If it includes intellitxt ads for the 275 thousand registered users, then I would like to point all users to a post I made last year for disabling them.

congrats guys
its a great community! keep up the great work
-
yay! And I hope to see the day we go to 500,000!
-
Awsome I love comming here everyday to checkup on the latest news.
-
without giving a out of this world type of answer,,,,
what would it take to get the real search back up and running?
also, a new look for the scene would be nice,
post out a contest to create a new logo too,, ( not saying this one is bad ) but a change is always good.
maybe an image gallery for everyone to show off there pictures. alot easier than running through forums, when this site takes hits up the anus, it lags bad, thats the 1 and only thing i hate about this site, its so damn popular, but the lag at times is just harsh.
But yea keep up the exellent job guys!

who actually started X-S? Was it HSD or like a group or what? Ive been here for a while but never figured that out. I wonder if they/he/whoever expected it to grow as large as it did.

while I was here at the beginning.. I had another name. I had absolutely no part in the initial start or rise of XS.
That was all Xantium!
Personally.. I never expected it to become what it has, the central hub to the modded xbox universe. When we started.. XS and XBH as far as I was concerned were the only sites of it's type worth visiting at all.. much less becoming an active member of. (frankly.. XBH and XS are still the only two..)
Always figured XS would just be a niche in the road.
We did have a plan for the site.. and have worked the plan. (and continue to do so)
-
we should blast another face into Mt. Rushmore with Xantium on it then lol. This site has been awesome, I would have surely killed my 1st xbox if it wasnt for here. (well actually i did screw it a few times but u guys helped me get it workin again hehe)
-
Please give a real search feature. I don't understand why any other features would be added before that

This place has been a huge help to everyone who visits it, when I got my first xbox all I wanted to do was play games and watch dvds on it but without having to buy the m$ dvd kit so I searched on google to see if ther was a way and the first hit it brought up was to a thread on here where someone had asked the same question. And thats how I learnt about modding my box and using chips and dashboards, etc. If this place hadnt existed then I wouldnt have know about any of it.
Since then I had fixed a broken xbox that I brought of ebay and sold it to a mate, havent done anything else tho, just give my time in the newbie section here helping out anyone that I can and building my knowledge as I go.
Hopefully one day I will appear somewhere towards the top of the posting champions as at the moment I am ranked 64th on the list but the ones in front of me seem to be a lot of mods so I guess I'll have to work my way up to that status as well.
Xombe if ya read this as well then slow down with the posts man, I need to catch ya up - I guess having the yr off seriously affected my rankings

Post count is not the sign of knowledge or anything else. I know lots of members with a lower post count that have far superior knowledge in many areas.
I know very little about softmodding (I am usually a chip man) but thanks to the tutorials and guides on this site softmodding goes without a hitch.
Everyone here can contribute regardless of low post count so I wouldn't worry about it all.
The key thing is whatever you want to do with your Xbox it can be achieved by just reading and taking in the info here and asking questions where required.
