has it been done already?
-
No. As of yet, the Xbox 360 cannot run any video encoded in DivX. I don't think we'll be able to get this functionality until someone is able to hack farther into the core security of the 360 than the DVD hack has gone. Maybe the Devil360 will shed some light on this.

ok cool... thanks for the reply.... do you know if there is a way to convert from divx into a format the 360 can read?
-
If you have Windows MEdia Center Edition, you can use Transcode 360 to stream Divx and Xvid to your Xbox 360. It works great, and I do it almost everyday.

that does soudn great... but i dont have media center (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) i'm gonna look into converting divx files to standard mpeg2... i'm not sure if it can be done tho.
-
But if you don't have wmce you can't stream any video at all, just music and pictures with media connect.
-
i think mpeg 2 is DVD format, so i think he was talking about buring stuff out

You will need media center if you want to stream any video. Then you can use that transcode 360 to view your divx files instead of converting them all
