hello,

i would like to watch vlc streams from my pc or any other streaming sources with mediacenter on my xbox. some of my friends talked about especially features of the media center which allows u to watch for example vlc streams. Like Paytv streams from a Nokia Dbox2 with linux neutrino or a movie stream from a local pc.

There's a script to connect XBMC to a DBox and show TV channels and what's on each channel. You can click on a channel and it will stream the feed straight to the Xbox.

It's called dboxtvviewer, definitely recommended!

streaming from vlc to a number of sources(including xbmc) works without flaw...at least the number of times ive tested it...placing the http://ip:port of the vlc streaming computer in a .strm file seems to work flawlessly.

although you may want to play around with the types of streaming you can do...choosing an encapsulation method, video codec, audio codec, bitrate etc etc...

you'll find that certain settings will work better than others. and if all your machines are on ethernet you can crank up the bitrates quite a bit. if you are wireless it might take some more fine tuning. quite honestly ive had better results outputting via http than i have using mmsh. all and all vlc is pretty amazing.
