Project Light This Bitch Up.
« on: June 20, 2004, 05:05:00 PM »

I just wanted to show you my pics i have so far. But first here's my plan, Put a cold cathode jewel light, and two cold cathodes in the grills, and maybe a red fan in.

(IMG:http://mywebpages.comcast.net/okandroid/xboxnot.jpg)
This is the jewel just plain.

(IMG:http://mywebpages.comcast.net/okandroid/xboxred.jpg)
Jewel with red cardboard under it.

(IMG:http://mywebpages.comcast.net/okandroid/cutshielding.jpg)
This is where Ive cut the shielding on the side, kind of a hack job. Also I've shaved away the little plastic things on the side of hard drive tray to fit a 4" cold cathode in there.

(IMG:http://mywebpages.comcast.net/okandroid/cutshielding2.jpg)
Here's the other side, I couldnt figure a separate place to put the x-ecuter chip sp I just cut around it.

I also have changed the led power color to red. Tomorrow I should be getting the cold cathode jewel light, and I will put pics of that up, and then on the 24th Ill be getting the other lights.

UPDATE: I got the light today, and it went in very easy. Here's some pics.

Easy off oven cleaner. It's real easy, spray on wipe off as much as possible. Then I washed it off with some water, and then used some brasso to make sure it was EXTRA clear. I can't wait for my light to get here.   <

Putting hot glue in the letters and then peeling it off later works well too. I found that out on accident. Now half my B is gone. Just make sure there's enough spill-over to allow your fingers to get a good grip so that all the glue comes off at once. Makes the job easier for you.  <

Whenever I put an Xecuter chip there, the DVD drive always ends up snapping off the connector for the switchboard. I always stick the Xecuter chip to the bottom of the DVD drive.  <

Hey all. I don't want to move the x-ecuter chip because i'm afraid id mess it up. I got the jewel light today, and I'd post pics but my camera is out of batteries. Ill charge it and get back to you. My other cathodes should be coming in the mail on Thursday, but I was trying to figure out how to fit two inverters in the xbox.   <

And they both fit? The ccfl is pretty big. The other two cold cathodes are coming thursday, but I can use a dual inverter for that. I hope I can fit both somehow. Im sure ill figure it out.    <
