Chip Working In One Box But Not The Other?
« on: February 23, 2008, 02:12:00 AM »

I had 2 DuoX2 GS chips i was installing in 2 xboxes, both were installed the same way and if i know the versions correctly theres not much installation difference.

First i tested both chips in a v1.4 box, both chips worked flawlessly.

Then i tryed them both in a v1.2/1.3 box and neither of them work? the xbox boots normally (with the flubber screen and everything) and the light on the chip does not come on.

I am using the d0 ground on the bottem of both boards.

any ideas?

Check the soldering on the LPC. Sounds like that might be your problem especially if you're not getting power to the chip.

Also make sure you have the BT wire connected as well during your testing.

yes, it sounds like a botched (LPC) install on the 1.2/3.

if you don't want to hook up the BT to the eject button, bridge it to the X on the LPC diagram below.
