Posted by XanTium | April 25 17:14 EST | News Category: Xbox360

From x360key.com:

Running a custom Linux system, x360key is capable of immaculately emulating the optical disk drive in Xbox 360, allowing you to play all your Xbox 360 (and Xbox 1) games from any USB media. It is compatible with all Xbox 360 models, both Fat and Slim, and offers advanced features such as emulation of the AP25 protection.
After more than a year in development We are proud to announce one of the most sophisticated backup loaders the world has ever seen. Backed by a team of hardware experts and some of the most renowned and respected members of the Xbox hacking community We have no doubt this will be an instant success!
We are now taking preorders and the first shipments to distributors are expected to be sent out in mid-July.

The remote is a simple yet stylish piece of hardware that features an OLED display and 3 buttons. It connects to the x360key motherboard via a high speed USB2 connection. It also has USB for connecting USB hard drives and other devices. The OLED and buttons are used to control various aspects of x360key.                DUDE can this be used on a regular xbox 360 thats not modded and soon to be xbox live supported.  This thing sounds great.  Although dual layer dvds are as low as 50 cents per disk this still sounds pretty damn cool!!!

This is great. Except for how the obviously inevitable shutdown of this company and their shipments will cause the company to stop updating the software for new disc protections rendering the expensive device useless.
But still exciting.

If it is not fake, who is the team behind this? It does look like the same dudes from wiikey / ps3key, but it is to soon to see. They might be sending some prototypes to the main reseallers just like PS3JB team did last year, so yea, if it is real we will see it working next weeks.

I just hope it not linked to team x by any means, but wait! They will clone it as soon as they can! Burn tx, burn.

Seems like it would be something easy for MS to patch though.
