I also don't think the component responsible for the switching will be able to handle the current of the pump. Why don't you just take the Voltages from the harddisk connector? It wouldn't suprise me if your pump comes with a Molex conector, as they are intended to be installed in a PC.

Isnt it possible to do "12v mod" for it.. like taking ground from the aluminium and power from the fan supply? aint that then regular 12v? or am i all wrong..

how much volts that pump needs?
