A PC is a PC, an XBOX is an XBOX, a PS2 is a PS2, a Dreamcast is well... the least protected gaming system ever.. but that's besides the point

you can't do it, don't try, that's why there's emulation.

There are WAY to many technical problems here to even start to contemplate how it would be done.

In fact it would be easier to say it can't be done. Think about it, you would be designing a console. It would no longer be a PC. Actually... forget it, I can't be bothered explaining every reason why it can't be done.

Not possible  laugh.gif

The best you can do is build in your xbox motherbord into a computer  cool.gif

The graphic chip for example is special to the xbox
and can not be found anywhere else for a pc.

The hole motherboard is special, they sure used a lot of computer things in
it, but that doesn't make it just a pc motherboard.

If you have a lot of time and a lot of hardware/software knowledge,
yep it probably can be done...
But why not then making your own gaming console  biggrin.gif
You could sell it then and make lots of money (like m$ does)  wink.gif

Thanks a lot for your answers guys.  Yeah, I'm new - as I'm sure you could tell from my question.  I just didnt see any info on why this couldn't be done or how it could be done or if anyone has ever tried it.  But thanks again for the replies.

people HAVE run win95 on it..incredibly slow, completly fuctionless, but it ran nonetheless.

The Xbox is 2 things:
1) A sweetass gaming system
2) THe cheapest and crappiest home PC you will ever get

In one way it is possible, not quite what what you were thinking, but, Licensed developers are able to buy an emulation card that slots into the PCI slot of a pc, this connects to an xbox hard drive which is mounted in the pc case. The card has an external connector which is a SCSI connector, this plugs into a white development xbox. As far as I can tell the white xbox is just used for video output to the tv, the pc has to be running Visual Studio.NET and has to have the Xbox XDK development system installed.

This basically gives the pc the ability to emulate an Xbox.

This is as close as you are going to get, and cost wise it is thousands of pounds, as well as having to be a licensed developer !!!
