Was your 1.0 a Thomson before you swapped with the new one?

I'm about to do the same, but wanted to confirm before I broke the seal on this new Xbox I have reserved for my broken Xbox DVD Drive

Dvd Drive Swap Question
« Reply #4 on: February 26, 2003, 04:16:00 PM »

Man, I wish I had waited so that I could have save the stickers.  But that's ok, I'll go get another one, swap the stickers and take back the on with the broken drive.

Thanks to everyone who sent me PMs about the stickers.

Now, the Drive I found was the Phillips ( bigger looking U ), which looks to be better since it didn't need the extra metal face plate to keep the thing snug.

However, it's seems to much louder and take just a second or two longer to load scenes.   It's that normal?

BTW, the one that I got this out of had a MFG. DATE : 2002-11-29 and the Dash Board had Xbox Live already built in.  Does that mean the new units have what the system needs to get set-up or do you still need to purchase the Xbox Live Kit?
