Edit: I used a PS2>USB converter on an older, bulky/very heavy keyboard and it worked fine, though the response was terrible as far as keeping up with my typing speed. But i dont know if it was due to the usb driver supplied with pbl-lite or the really old keyboard.

i have a Black IBM USB Kb, that works fine in XB Linux but dosent work in Avalaunch, they say its the drivers, donno how a standard usb kb that works on a pc and everything that is detected as a standard usb kb needs drivers.

so i wanted to see how many others KB's arent working.  smile.gif

mine doesn't work either. It works fine in Linux also. It does have a built in USB hub though, so I suspect that might be why the drivers have a problem, but still it should work if USB keyboards are standard.

I think it depends Where you plug the keyboard into the xbox.
On 1 of the 4 front xbox controller ports.
Or into 1 of the 2 controller memory slots.

If you plug into the controller memory slots, your into a hub, but if into 1 of the front xbox ports, your not into a hub.

People with problems using the memory slots may want to plug directly to the xbox ports.

I have a HP key board with usb ports, and the free MS usb adaptor but it doesn't work. But it's just an alpha release, I don't expect much from it right now.

I asked one of the developers if there were any plans to increase the number of supported keyboards, he said no because they only plan to support regular USB stuff. So I guess it's tough luck to the people with keyboards that dont work.

Why would that turn you off from avalaunch? I mean, none of the other dashes use keyboards... What's the difference if you can't use your keyboard in avalaunch then?!

my ps/2 ms elite [split ergonomic style] works great with an adapter that i made myself, much like a usb adapter.  i hav a usb keyboard that i also bought but it doesnt work with the usb adapter i made [the adapter works, ive tested it with my ms optical mouse in linux.]  not too worried about the other keyboard, its a 'mini virtually indestrucbible keyboard' bought at compUSA.  its flat and rubbery, spillproof.  pretty cool, but doesnt work.

I have an SGI USB keyboard, and I haven't tried it on Avalaunch, but it works great on MXM (both old XDK and new XDK).

Why any USB keyboards should not work is beyond me, unless they tossed the XDK routines and created their own.
