Ok guys, im in my mandrake install!!!

I finished it now im trying to make a proper linuxboot.cfg

Before, it wouldnt boot, now it displays hda 0 in cromwell (it ay hda 1 when selecting from gentoo hard drive, but whatever)

But it always says failed to load Kernel Grub error 15

Heres what in the boot directory of my mandrake install:

System.map-2.6.11-6mdkxbox initrd-2.6.11-6mdkxbox.img message-graphic

config-2.6.11-6mdkxbox initrd.img vmlinuz

grub linuxboot.cfg        vmlinuz-2.6.11-6mdkxbox

( DONT INCLUDE linuxboot.cfg, i put that there)

Here is whats in MY linuxboot.cfg:

kernel vmlinuz

append root=/dev/hda1 kbd-reset video=xbox:640x480,nohwcursor acpi=hw

SOmeone give me a proper linuxboot.cfg or a suggested one and ill try it

This is what should be in your linuxboot.cfg

title LE2005-ide

kernel /mandrake/vmlinuz-2.6.11-6mdkxbox

initrd /mandrake/initrd-2.6.11-6mdkxbox.img.ide

append root=/dev/hda1

title LE2005-usb

kernel /mandrake/vmlinuz-2.6.11-6mdkxbox

initrd /mandrake/initrd-2.6.11-6mdkxbox.img.usb

append root=/dev/sda3

default LE2005-ide

The files are on the disc in the Xbox folder, you`ll need these files

initrd-2.6.11-6mdkxbox.img.ide

initrd-2.6.11-6mdkxbox.img.usb

vmlinuz-2.6.11-6mdkxbox

linuxboot

xromwell.xbe

If you open up linuxboot.cfg it tells you were the files are supposed to go.

Hope that helps someone get Mandriva working.

I installed it from the mini Cd version , none of the versions I downloaded from the mirrors had all the files. Waste  of 3 days to get it working and then finding out the mini cd xbox version doesn`t seem to have any apps on it apart from a very basic windows manager, at least I think thats what you call it. I`m new to the Linux scene so I may not have configured it properly.

Oh well hope you have better luck with it.

Cheers B4tm4n
