I Think I Screwed Up My Video Settings Bad...
« on: April 28, 2004, 09:38:00 AM »

I adjusted my video settings in the settings menu on XBMP... i believe i put them to 16:9 and NTSJC-J.... i was trying to do this because my .avi that i ripped from a DVD was distorted a bit, and i was trying to change the ratios to make it look right.

Now when i start it up i just get a random flash of white and a blank black screen... basically no video except for a random white flash occasionally

HOW DO I FIX THIS OR RESET THE VIDEO SETTINGS!??!?!?!?

I have EvoX, at the very least if it can't be reset somehow can someone please tell me how many clicks down it is to get to XBMP in EvoX and how many clicks down, left, right, etc.. it takes to reset the settings. I know the program is still running because when i pop in a disc of halo the sounds come up...

i really screwed my shiat up here, please please help

-you'll need to "extract" the contents of that ISO file. I'd use Alcohol or Daemon Tools to mount the ISO image as a virtual drive on your system to accomplish this. (Google search for them if you don't know what this means)

-any file 50-100mb will do...just rename it to 1.bin

-if you can't find a file of that size on your system you'll find a program in the ownload section to create one...just search for "dummy"

-burn the extracted ISO files and the dummy file to a DVDRW (my XBOX won't read any CDRW's so youre milage may vary)

OR

it may be that that ISO file you grabbed has a dummy file on it (doubtful) already and you just have to burn the ISO. I use DVD Decrypter (it's free, do a Google search for it) to burn my ISO's.

FINALLY - to quote from the link I gave you:

"Boot the xbox with it and Press A (for Pal) or B (for NTSC)
Then reboot the xbox and the video should be back.

If not try to boot the disc again and now press B if you pressed A first or the other way around. (You get it i hope...)"

I'll assume you weren't asking someone to send you a 50-100mb file!  :D

ok, i see no .iso files after extraction. I used xiso manager

what i got was:

default.xbe

and a folder called : Media with a few .xpr files, some bmp files and a few other folders w/ textures and fonts and shit...

i made the dummy file

now what do i do?

In other words:

burn default.xbe and anything else you extracted from the original ISO along with the dummy file

burn those files with Nero....or whatever other CD/DVD burning software you have.

DVD Ddecrypter is only for burning ISO files.

It WILL work

I was about to give up when I tried ftp'ing all the files to the console and it worked !

Console wouldn't boot enigmah with any disc format.

Make sure u got video cables disconnected so u can at least boot up the console with no picture.

Copy all files to the console as you would burn em onto a disc to a new folder

Then using FlashFXP use a raw command execute default.xbe on the default.xbe file extracted from enigmah, give it a sec, press B (or A depending on settings), turn off console,  plug video cable back on and reboot.

Good as new.
