Possible To Play Backups W/o Modding?

You have to take the console apart to firmware mod the drive to play backups. No way around that.

The best advice is to seek out someone who knows his stuff.
Seriously, modding your own console will cost you more than paying someone for it(considering you got a Lite On drive, and its probably that).

I recommend you start reading the pinned topics and go from there. You need to do a lot of research before you even think about taking your console apart.

If after doing your research you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself then you can always checkout the firmware flashers forum HERE to get help with it.
