E65 Error
« on: January 01, 2008, 08:56:00 PM »

I just used Iprep to set up flash drive with iextreme 1.4 on my  ms28 drive.  I was able to complete the dsam and did all the banks.  I rebooted and saved the file "SAM-OFW.BIN".  When i went back and tried to do the fsam command, it wont.  I plugged the xbox into my pc and am getting error E65.  I have read the tutorials over and over. Am i missing something?
Thanks.

someone showed me how to make the ix14.bin file and put it into the tools folder.  When i boot i go to the tools directory, then i typed mtkflash w /m /sata ix14.bin  then it said no device detected.  My via card shows up when i am using fsam and dsam but not with mtkflash.  I have been working on this forever and need some help BADLY.
thanks

The bat files do it the same way you are doing it from the command prompt using the exact same mtkflash command.

Are you using the VCC method or the 10 second trick?

If you somehow managed to brick the DVD controller board then you should pm me as i just so happen to have a extra Samsung controller without a drive to put it in.

Don't stress out too much, You have your key!

Did you hook a ground cable up between your xbox and pc? becuase if not you may have bricked the drive.
Its not a good sign when your unable to even dump the drive any more.

either 1 you plugged in the power cable wrong and killed the drive or 2 you have bad flashed it.

you will need another (SATA) device that will register in mtkflash to try the bad flash recovery, another working samsung is best but you can most likely use a sata PC drive or the 360 hard drive.

after getting the other drive registered (with a write command) power it off and disconnect it, connect the samsung in its place, make your selection and power it on, if it doesnt start writing then you need a new drive board or drive.

I dont think it will help. It is for disabling firmguard but you have a bad flash not a firmguard issue.

Is anyone familiar withthe "hot swap method" when flashing?  have read about it and using another sammy drive, but does ti have to be another xbox drive?

So for my situation, since i have my original key, would it be best to just buy a new samsung drive online and inject my key in it and reflash the new drive? Also if i buy a MS25 instead of my MS28, i know i need to spoof the drive to be seen as a ms28, but do i still need to do the 10 second trick?
