http://www.coolerguys.com/klxb360kit.html

Opinions , concerns ?

just looking for feedback.  Looks like a fairly decent setup i like the way that their design replaces the xclamps.

but 279 bit ridiculous if u ask me.

They aren't redesigning the x-clamps, that's just how they hold the waterblocks to the x-clamps, unless I'm missing something (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) . It is outrageously priced, but it is a complete, working kit. I'm impressed that modding has become mainstream enough for a company as big as Koolance to come out with a product specifically targeted at modders.

you can use the mounting brackets that come with the cooling blocks(not x style)
i had a extra rad, pump and res., and decided to get the koolance blocks and try it out
so not counting what i already had it cost me under $60
its on a mesh stand and the rad has 1" spacers to make sure it can get plenty of air

from the front all you can see is the fans, you rely cant see the rest unless you go behind

Good job there, but it's truly sad that the 360 is built out of crap, so people have to go to such measures to keep theirs from dying.

I'd remove the fans, and put some hidden super quiet tiny ones in there for the other components.....then it'd be a silent xbox reallly, why have the fan in there still....if you have watercooling?

the 2 60mm fans in the side are from before i went water cooled ihad faster ones in but when i went water cooled i swapped them out for 2 60mm SilenX IXP-34-12 fans  they are very quiet 12dba but only put out 14cfm i left fans in the side since i had holes cut already and disconnected the original xbox fans so it is very quite
was thinking of getting the a new case and if i do i will be leaving the side fans out...
was thinking of getting the black x window case with the red leds so everything was red and black, think it would look pretty good ontop of that stand

forget the koolance kit, just get those 2 waterblocks seperatly and a copper wc unit, you won't need more then one 120 mm radiator, the koolance kit uses a double 120 mm radiator, complete overkill. Oh, and it's aluminium: aluminium+copper=BAD

$279? Dont you mean $297.95 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) . The price just jumped up even higher. Alpha Prime is right about mixing copper and aluminum in a liquid cooling setup. You'll get corrosion.

If you where going to do water cooling, it is best to go piece by piece and put it together yourself, buying a kit liek that is way over priced compared to what you would spend on getting everything your self. I am looking at water cooling one of my 360s when I get some more free time, I will post a WIP thread as I do it. There are tons of parts for water cooling, just browse newegg.com or something like that to get ideas. Also take a look at this thread, http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=505987 Dano did a very great WIP thread of a full internal water cooling system, could give you some more ideas of things to keep in mind.

Yeah feel free to take a look at my watercooling project, though i did it some time ago now.

On the other hand on the watercooling stuff, that kit is a rip-off, a way over priced bit of kit that was intended for PC's, hence its layout.

You'd be far better off with the koolance waterblocks, and a nice neat looking seperate radiator and pump housed in a nice case, you'd get one much cheaper aswell that would look a million times better, but then theres always the option of getting creative and making something yourself (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Cheers (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Yeah, like making one completely internal. Sounds like it'd be cool. I wonder if anyone else has done it before (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) .
