Internal Watercooling
« on: November 12, 2007, 06:27:00 PM »

Iv been looking into water cooling my xbox 360 and have come up with a list of core things i would need that i think would work.

http://www.xoxide.com/koolance-hx-360.html

----------------------------------------------------

I'm thinking i might be able to attach the reservoir to the out side of the case, so i have more room to work with on the inside.
If anyone has any suggestions on better things i could use or ideas that would be similar to internal watercooling that would be easier, please post.
 Thanks,

If you are seriously considering wanting a complete internal or semi internal setup, have you considered looking at the dimensions of the items and considering where they may fit?

For instance, look at those radiator dimensions, where do you expect to put that and cool it properly? This alone is nearly 6cm deep, so add a fan to the bottom of that, never mind the other dimensions at this point, you worry about those once youve thought about cooling the radiator effectively.

I didn't realize how big some of the parts were.

Here is a smaller radiator,  http://www.xoxide.com/dangerden-black-ice-extreme-38.html
Its 5.9 x 5 x 1.69 inch instead of the 5.2" x 5.9" x 2.3" the other radiator was. Its 120mm though..

Do you have any suggestions on a compact pump?

Thanks

It took him some time but he finally finished it!   (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

But that not completely internal, none the less looks a nice job and modification, if only the radiator was mounted inside the case it would be a real nice bit of kit, not that it isn't now anyway (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Oh and for a compact pump, there are many options, it depends on how and where you intend to use and mount it, you need to look and choose your area for the setup, then find a pump to suit it.

Otherwise, its like finding an engine the building a car around it, you need to get the car, and build the engine to suit, sadly some companies such as renault over here seem unable to do that, hence the reason why some of them are terrible cars to work with, and are unreliable as hell, as some things are under-rated, and don't even quite fit properly.

Same applies for the 360, find yourself your location and fitting point, then find a pump to suit, you can look at many, or be shown a good selection, but none of them might be what your after.

Sometimes sourcing the right parts is the hardest part of any mod.

Good luck though (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)
