Sh-d163b Kreon Backup Problems

Hi guys, i could do with a bit of help with creating backups. Firstly i have a SH-D163B flashed with the kreon firmware. Ive tried both Schtrom360Xtract V3.4 & XBC v2.7.0.265, Xbox Backup Creator stops responding the minute you start backing up the game (it hangs up the whole computer, cant close it though task manager) ive had better luck with Schtrom360Xtract where its got to 3% but doesnt go any further (i waited over 7 hours just to be sure) it also crashes if you try and cancel it. Ive also checked that no services from CD/DVD applications are running so then i thought maybe the drive might be not working right, the discs show up in windows fine with filenames of XGD2DVD_NTSC or XBOX360. Ive checked forums but aint seen any problems with my drive and the firmware, im stuck on what it could be so any ideas/help would be much appreciated.
