How Do I Update 1.5->1.51?

Pull the power while the drive is ejecting so it actually stops half way, there is no need to touch it.
Then reconnect the power, the drive tray will stay where it is.

Also when you are done flashing make sure the drive will open/close properly (you may have to close it yourself first)
Otherwise it might be stuck in vendor mode.

Works for me every time.

Well, the half tray trick is only required with Jungleflasher, AFAIK.

I just followed Textbook's tutorial (the one I linked to)

So I turned off whole xbox, selected the drive in DOS, waited 10 seconds, turned xbox back on. No pulling the power cord of 360 drive or ejecting tray, only power cycling whole xbox with power button.

And yes, I used drivers for the VIA card. (I don't know if I needed it)

The half-open trey never works for me on any of my Samsungs.

I always have to do the bad flash method for upgrading.

bad flash = flashing/dumping with via card and 10 second trick (turning xbox off, choosing drive in dos, waiting 10 seconds, then turning xbox on)
