Hi. I bought X360 with ms28 drive spoofed as liteon with 1.4 ixtreme. I flashed it to 1.5 with iprep, but I flashed my friend's one with jungleflasher (just like mine, ms28 spoofed as liteon, 1.4->1.5)

Now I want to update firmware from 1.5 to 1.51 and I'm unsure what to do.

I have the newest JungleFlasher and the tutorial. The tutorial, however, says very little about unlocking samsung ms28 with ix 1.5 - only one small image. So it's possible I unlocked it incorrectly and that's why it didn't work.

What I did:

1) Connected 360 drive to VIA SATA Card via SATA cord
2) 360 drive connected to X360 via power cord
3) Ran both PC and Xbox
4) Ran JungleFlasher
5) Clicked MTKFlash32 Tab, clicked the right port in MTKFlash32 tab (my drive appeared)
6) Ejected 360 drive tray
7) Pulled the 360 drive power cord out
8 )Pushed the tray halfway in
9) Inserted 360 drive power cord

There was no data in Flash Chip Properties, all fields were empty.

Now, that's interesting - when I flashed 1.4->1.5, I'm almost 100% sure it said it's samung ms28, and now in drive properties it says it's LiteOn!

10) Clicked Intro/Device ID

In Drive Properties "Drive in Vendor Mode!" appeared. No info in Flash Chip Properties, however. All fields empty. No signal of the 0x70 status.

11) Clicked "Read"

I got message "Invalid drive status" or something similar.

Any ideas?

PS Or maybe, because it is spoofed as Liteon, I should flash it as liteon?

In the MTKFlash tab at the top click the blue text that says Activate.iso and it will send you to a download location for a disc image which needs to be burned to a Dual Layer dvd with NO LAYER BREAK. I used Nero to burn and it failed to finalize but the disc worked.
After burning it insert it into your samsung drive wait 30 seconds then start Jungleflasher go to MTKFlash tab and click device intro and you should get a valid status.

EDIT: Just noticed you said 1.5 to 1.51 I think that the activate.iso is for 1.4 and below but it may be worth a try

I've got this disc. I used it to update 1.4 -> 1.5. I won't use it, since it is only for ix14 or lower.

I have the same problem. In Drive Properties it says Vendor: No Drive Detected. I also have no idea how to find the correct port to select?

Im not trying to hijack your post, Just hoping you can give me a little help about the same setup (drive spoofed as liteon with 1.5 firmware)

I have more or less the same problem. Should we flash it with the lite-on firmware? Or sammy? Thanks!

If it's a samsung drive then you need to use the samsumg firmware. I would actually use the latest version of toolbox to make the firmware and spoof it.

I would do your dumping and flashing in dos using dosflash, then you don't have to worry about hangups for the most part.

How do you know that the activate.iso is only for <= 1.4? Only because it's in the manual? Maybe the text has not been updated and should it also be used for 1.5? The drive needs to be in the correct mode and the iso will do this. It might be still needed for 1.5? Or not?

You used a VIA card with VT6421A chipset? I tried this guide but it does not work, I guess because I try it with a Intel ICH chip. I will order a VIA board and try again.

Yes, it's a card with VIA VT6421A chipset, but I also used one with VT6421L before.

They both work.

I don't need to do something in order to get the drive responding to iprep? No half-open or other things? Power on PC and then connect SATA cable when I'm in Dos? That's it? Thanks again!

Oh, and should I install the drivers in Windows when I would like to use Jungleflasher? Or only portio?
