ccXgui v2 TV-capture Streaming Test Tool-- Posted by XanTium on January 15 17:05 EST
[XC]D-Ice released a new test/experimental tool that will stream the selected PC capture device (like TV-cards) on port 33000 (using VFW (Video For Windows)), so you can watch it on XboxMediaCenter(info).

ccXgui(info) v.2 - Tv-Capture test (1.0):
* Initial build
* Double click on black "image" to set settings
* Plz try different settings, and report back to me at: drdice[AT]gmail.com. Please write "ccXgui tv" in the subject

Whats the point in streaming TV feeds to a TV??!
What would the capture card capture that the TV cant?
Dont get the big hype about this, its freaking pointless, you wanna watch TV on your TV? Why not plug the antenna cable to the TV instead of your tv-capture card.. doh.

well i just tried this out i opened ccXgui_v2_tv-test.exe got the little black box, double clicked for setting my device is an ati tv wonder pro, for format i chose the first 16 bits one, and for the codec i chose M$ video 1 and it worked. the little box had the last channel i was watching(but no sound and you cant change the channel). But thats as far as i got i cant get xbmc to find it. I tryed to add a new share the path was xbms://My.PC's.IP.ADD:33000/
is this the right path or is it not a xbms share?? I would realy like to try it out if anyone could help.
As for an initial build it has bugs like they all do but it should of had more documentation on how to set it up. I dont know if i did it right or if it just does not stream?? also everytime i go to close it i get an error saying ccXgui blah blah has a problem blah blah and has to close, please tell M$, send error report, dont send

mostly because capture card to Xbox gives you better quality (I would think).

Also, it is nice to have a TiVo box without actually getting one.

If, like me, your "TV" is just a display device with no tuner.  I have a projector as my primary TV.  I bought a TiVo just for the tuner.  It would be very nice to be able to load this on one of my servers and get rid of the TiVo entirely, since I download most TV shows for later watching anyways.  They're higher quality this way and lack commercials.

next all we need is the ability to send commands from XBOX-PC, basicly have a control panel for the Capture Card in XBMC, then all i need is a diff remote to control my sat dish in the computer room that won't take over the 1 in the living room, and hopfully not to much lag through the connection, may consider changing it to a wired Connection over wireless 200 feet or of wire should do it

pretty sweet cause i was just in the market for a Capture Card anyway, i'll sit back and see how this here bit works then see what kinda card I want

Just tried it out and it worked great.
Only problem is that I have a Nexus-s DVB card that I was hoping to stream with but that device didn't show up in the list for whatever reason.

The device that did was my logitech fusion web cam and that worked well smile.gif

Excellent start to a potentially awesome new feature continually breathing life into the xbox !

No need to do that.  ViewSonic created this to solve that problem :

NextVision

There are several versions with varying prices (and resolutions).  Turns any "monitor" into a TV with tuner and various TV inputs.
